Nigeria will be exposed to ridicule in far away Vienna, Austria when her senior diplomat with the Nigerian Embassy in Vienna Mrs. Abimbola Raji will stand in court to deny the allegation that she had slapped and kicked a Nigerian man on the streets of Vienna, as pronounced by Taye Derito.
It should be recalled that the shameful fracas took place on 27.10.2014 close to the Italian Embassy on Rennweg, 1030 Vienna.
The court case has been fixed on 31.03.2015 at Bezirksgericht Innere Stadt, Marxergasse 1a, 1030 Vienna, 2. OG, Saal 223, by 12:45pm. No matter the outcome of the case it is very embarrassing to the name Nigerian
It should be recalled that in Derito’s statement to Global Reporters, he claimed that Mrs. Raji had thrown away decorum as a diplomat and had aggressively attacked him on the streets. When Mrs. Raji was contacted she refused to speak on the issue, but rather the Nigerian Embassy with an official letter to Global Reporters excused her from speaking to our reporter, citing that it was not allowed until there was an official order to do so from the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
However Global Reporters has been privileged to get the story of Mrs. Raji, and it will be very interesting to read what she had to say.
Meanwhile our investigation revealed that Alonge James and Sunny Akpan were the only two people who came to the scene of the brouhaha, and saw what happened and separated the sparring that would have probably developed into full boxing and wrestling. But surprisingly Sunny Akpan’s name is the only name given as a witness by Mrs. Raji. The elimination or exclusion of James as a witness raises a lot of questions. Therefore we suggest that James should be compelled to also appear in court and say what he knows regarding this case if the Austrian law permits such.
