Step 1

Create a Gmail account through Gmail.com. You must have an active Gmail account to use your Android device.

Step 2

Visit your wireless provider's retail store. Bring your BlackBerry and Android device, ensuring both have a full charge and your SIM card is installed in at least one device.

Step 3

Request that a representative transfer your BlackBerry messenger contacts to your new Android device. The representative will handle the transfer on their end. You may have to pay a small processing fee.

Step 4

Scroll through the contact list on your Android and verify that all your contracts transferred successfully.

How to Transfer Contacts Using Google Sync

Step 1

Create a Gmail email account through Gmail.com. You must use a Gmail account to transfer your BlackBerry messenger contacts to the Android handset.

Step 2

Download the Google Sync application to your BlackBerry through the BlackBerry App World on your device.

Step 3

Enter your Gmail account username and password into the Google Sync app and tap the "Sync" button. The application will sync your BlackBerry messenger contacts, your BlackBerry phone contacts and your calendar.

Step 4

Power up your Android device after the Google Sync app finishes syncing your contacts. Tap the "Settings" button. Tap the "Google Acounts" menu option. Enter your Gmail username and password and press "Ok." The Android will sync your contacts automatically.
