Nigerian Governor plays the role of a best man at a cook’s wedding (PHOTOS)

Mr Peter Anyiman, a cook serving Catholic Priest, Rev. Father Michael Tumba, had the honour of having Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue state as his best man at his wedding which took place last Saturday at Our Lady Perpetual Help Cathedral, Makurdi, Benue State.

According to the governor, the groom who had served Tumba in Abuja for 18 years had demonstrated commitment to his job and deserved to be honoured. He advised people to take their jobs seriously.

The governor took time to adjust the groom’s tie and wipe sweat from his face to the admiration of the guests who attended the ceremony.

Anyiman said he considered himself lucky to have the governor serve as his best man and could not have wished for a better wedding gift.

The Governor also shared the following words on his page: “Today am happy to identify with Peter and Tabitha as I march to the Altar as Peters Best man. I have known Peter as a dedicated steward/cook in the Parish House any time I came visiting the Church. Most youths today will rather refuse to work as stewards and look down on people who do such jobs. It is not what you do that matters but how you affect others in your little position. It is to these reasons that am happy to identify with Peter and wife and wish them a happy married life, while I enjoin other youths to emulate humble beginnings in all they do as it attracts blessings from God and before men.”

We are all equal before our creator,so what mountain are you making out of the molehill of a governor acting as a bestmam at a cook's wedding?

Not many Governors not to talk of rich men will stoop so low to do what the Governor did, so we should commend the Governor for what he did.

And my brother, please next time write Governor with a Capital "G"

A rare sight indeed considering how 9jarian elite simulate hectic biz schedules to avoid poor peoples events or invest time, building social bridges to ensure their children marry into other rich families in order to secure their wealth. This was rare for the Governor to creat time to partake in the wedding proper.
