There was panic at the Christ Embassy headquarters along Kudirat Abiola Way (formerly Oregun Road) on Tuesday, after a fire broke out in the evening.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the fire emanated from the generator room and consumed about eight generators.
Our correspondent learnt that the fuel in the generators intensified the fire as firemen were said to have battled the inferno for about an hour.
It was learnt that men of the Lagos State Fire Service, the police,Lagos State Ambulance Services and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency were able to prevent the fire from escalating.
General Manager, LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osayintolu, told our correspondent on the telephone that the immediate cause of the fire was not known as of press time. He added that there were no casualties in the fire incident.
He said, “The fire started around 6pm at the generator room of the church after a spark. We were able to prevent the fire from spreading after an hour.
“There were about eight generators in the room and they were severely burnt. There were, however, no casualties.”
