World number one golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a car accident on Friday, a Florida newspaper reported.

The Orlando Sentinel, citing the Florida Highway Patrol, said Woods' car struck a fire hydrant and a tree in Florida's Isleworth community, near Orlando.

Woods, 33, was transported to a hospital in Ocoee in serious condition, the newspaper said, citing the FHP.

Professor Sam Okoye, Top Nigerian Scientist, Dies in London

Professor Samuel Ejikeme Okoye, one of Africa’s top astrophysicists, died in London on Wednesday, November 18, according to a statement authorized by his family. The family did not release the cause of death.

Professor Okoye, who hailed from Amawbia in Anambra State, was born on July 26, 1939.

Bus accident claims five lives in Lagos

Five people were killed on Saturday morning in an accident involving a commuter bus at Adeniji Adele Bus Stop in Lagos Island.
