Rosemary Obiakor, 46, of Lagos, won more than three million naira (£13,500) in the National Sports Lottery, reports the Daily Metro.

When asked what she planned to do with the money after she was presented with her cheque in a ceremony on local TV, Mrs Obiakor said she'd give it to a "lucky beggar".

"I have heard a lot of stories about how people win the lottery, and they get broke in the short run and come across a lot of misfortune. I am scared, and so I'll give it to a lucky beggar on the street," she told TV reporters.

She collected her cheque, cashed the money and gave the money to a female beggar who was sitting by the street side with her two-year old baby.

When Mrs Obiakor and a team of lottery executives handed the beggar a bag full of banknotes, she screamed with delight, and hugged them all.

She thanked her benefactor profusely and promised to start a food retail business immediately.

Before she went away with her money, the new 'millionaire' gave handfuls of money to other beggars on the street.

Mrs Obiakor's gesture is a living testimony that she wants to help those who are really in need. Surely, the blessings will come back to her in a thousand fold.

Mrs. Rosemary Obiakor did not want to be broke and did not want other calamities to befall her, did she believe that she transfered those evils to this poor begger and her young innocent child? I think she gave out the money out of fear of her erronous belief but The Almight God, The God of Impossibilities will use the money to turn around the life of the begger's young child. As for Rosemary Obiakor, the bible says "my people perish for lack of knowledge". She lacks a lot of knowledge but I commend her for being honest of her belief and feelings.

Good did thou, but is it the fair of going bankrupt or good will that made her give out the money. Its only goodwill that is acceptable b4 God not what is done out of fear.

woman u ve really done what the bible refers to as true christianity but with the mind set that u gave it out wasnt really the best that means u dont really wish the reciever best of luck cos if u really believe that using it will cause misfortune for the person, dose that imply that u want the receiver to embrace the misfortune or pray for it not to befall on her?Nigerians lets be wise.Though ur believe brought smile in another persons life but was it from her heart?
