Charles Okah Collapses In Abuja Court

thumbnail.php?file=Charles_Okah_cover__244980414.png&size=article_mediumMr. Charles Okah, one of four persons being held for the October 01, 2010, Abuja bomb blasts has collapsed in an Abuja court room where he is facing trial.

A visibly ill Charles, fell to the ground in the dock after trial judge Gabriel Kolawole noticed that he looked frail and sick. Counsel to Charles, Mr. Ogheneove Otemu informed the court that his client has been unable to receive Medicare since his arrest.

Justice Kolawole thereafter adjourned the trial to January 27, 2011, and ruled in chamber that the suspect be transferred to the National Hospital Abuja for treatment.

The Federal High Court judge also ordered the Chief Medical Director of the hospital to file in an interim medical report on Mr. Okah at the next court date.

Mr. Okah’s brother, Henry Okah is also facing charges in a Johannesburg, South Africa court for his alleged role in the blasts.
