Igbinedion University Murder Two including a pastor police net over murder of undergraduate

By Sola Adebayo, Warri Two persons, including a pastor, have been arrested by men of the Delta State Police Command for raping and murdering an undergraduate of Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State. The police identified the deceased as Princess Chinoso. The suspects committed the crime in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State. It was gathered that the suspects had duped the deceased of N155,000 ostensibly to effect the transfer of her degree programme from Igbinedion University to Delta State University, Abraka. Our correspondent learnt at the headquarters of the police command in Asaba, the state capital, on Tuesday that the suspects, in their desperation to cover up their nefarious action, later lured the deceased to Abraka. Police sources told our correspondent that the deceased was tricked to the residence of the fake pastor in the Urhobo community under the pretence that they planned to refund her money. However, it was gathered that the victim, who was apparently unaware of the sinister motives of the suspects, was thereafter raped and murdered. Her remains were later buried in a shallow grave behind the pastor's residence. The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Charles Moka, confirmed the report in a text message to our correspondent on Tuesday. Moka said the remains of the deceased had since been exhumed for autopsy. The PPRO added that the matter was being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Department of the state police command.
