Jonathan’s Supporters Allege Hidden Agenda

SUPPORTERS of President Goodluck  Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo, on Friday, raised the alarm that the denial of the South-West of the speakership of the House of Representatives was part of a grand design by some political forces to move against the presidency.They claimed that the first stage of the plot, which they said appeared accomplished, was for some fifth columnists to ensure the election of Honourables Ahmed Tambuwal and Emeka Imedioha as Speaker and deputy Speaker in disregard of the zoning policy of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).According to the president-general of the Jonathan/Sambo Support Group, Prince Adekunle Kingsley Obolo, in a statement made available to Saturday Tribune, the injustice meted out to the South-West on the matter must be quickly addressed in order to promote political harmony.“The Yoruba supported Jonathan based on their convictions which is based on the principles of fairness, justice and appropriate political balancing; if the current conspiracy against them has been done with fair- mindedness, it would not have raised any eye-brow, but a situation where the people of the zone were subjected unjustly to political privations and/or deprivation is unfair to God and good conscience.“The decision of the House of Representatives to scheme out a most vibrant, articulate, politically sophisticated, well-cultured and refined segment of the country out of reckoning and contention is unfair and smacks of insensitivity,” they stated
