Mum stones 3-month-old baby to death• After catching hubby with condomIt sounds like a fairy tale, but it happened. A middle-aged woman yesterday allowed the animal instincts in her to control her actions, as she stoned her three-month-old baby to death after catching her husband with a packet of condoms.The incident occurred at Ogwashi-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.Already the suspect, Marian Amachie, is being quizzed by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the state police command, Asaba.She was said to have been transferred from the Police Divisional Headquarters Ogwashi-Uku to the state Headquarters Asaba, two hours after her arrest following threats of retaliation by youths.Trouble started when a disagreement broke out between Christian Amechie, a primary school teacher and his wife, Marian, a petty trader, over the inability of the man to meet the challenges of family up-keep.The woman, now in the police custody, was said to have attributed the act to waywardness and laziness of her husband.Mrs. Amachie listed the sins of her husband to include failure to provide feeding allowance, payment of house rent, school fees and clothing for their four children.The woman was said to have been given some clothes to wash by the husband.While taking the clothes for washing, a packet of condom was said to have dropped from one of the pockets of the husband’s trousers.Obviously unable to control her anger, the woman was said to have made straight to the husband who was preparing for work.Tempers reportedly rose between them and resulted in a physical combat. A reliable source told Daily Champion: "The woman reportedly dragged out the child she was carrying on her back and stoned her. All efforts to revive the child could not yield any positive result as the child had given up the ghost. The other kids could however not help because of their ages."Delta State Police Public Relation Officer, ASP Charles Muka said investigation into the ugly incident had commenced
