The TV also regarded as the next generation 3D TV is designed to offer cinema viewers and consumer alike a comfortable viewing experience.
The Nobel Laureate was particularly pleased with the level of in-depth technology that distinguishes LG’s new cinema 3D TV.
Unlike the conventional 3D TVs it eliminates feelings of dizziness or eye fatigue that may occur during viewing. Added to it is the new 2D to 3D “up-conversion” tools, which guarantees that all contents can be brought up comfortably and simply from 2D to 3D and would not require viewers to sit at un-comfortable angles to get the best picture, a common fault of previous 2D sets. These entire features are only made possible by a brand that truly has the interest of its consumers at heart in its design of products that guarantees and gives complete value.
The cinema 3D technology provides a much improved 3D experience, which includes home dashboard and magic motion remote control that allows users to point directly at the application they want rather than pressing a litany of buttons, giving a mouse like experience.
Delighted by the distinction that makes the LG Cinema 3D TV stand in a class of its own, the Managing Director, LG Electronics, West African Operations, Jaeyoung Lee said “Introducing the brighter, lighter, more comfortable, battery-free and certified flicker-free LG Cinema 3D TV is a high feat which we have gone the extra mile to achieve with the satisfaction of our consumers in mind. We believe it is time for our consumers to welcome the next generation of 3D TV to their living room.”
Revealing further, he said that the new technology produces brighter and clearer pictures with 3D light boost technology just as it provides exceptional clear and vivid pictures in 3D.
Soyinka, while giving his endorsement remark, took time to emphasise on the wonders of technology stressing more on how it was used to solve besetting problems confronted by FRSC while he was the chairman. He further stated that technology is a two-edged sword. It enhances the quality of human life and at the same time can be very dangerous.
The managing director of Fouani Nigeria limited, Mohammed Fouani, the sole dealer of LG electronics in Nigeria, commended the gathering for honouring an invitation meant to showcase a new ground of technology that has been witnessed in the country.
He said” “We are the first to introduce this technology at the market. This is part of our resolve to consumers, dealers, the movie industry, that LG electronics is alive to making sure that new steps and technologies that will add value, taste, and feeling are made available in the market.”
Meanwhile, the renowned critic has urged movie industry to accept the challenge, which the new innovation had brought into the firms.
He pointed out that right now, the industry needs a quantum leap in artistry to be able to match and exceed what is obtainable at present.
A widow, Veronica Ejiofor, resident of Azare in Bauchi State, said on Friday that she watched “helplessly” as her husband of 19 years was being killed and his corpse burnt to ashes.
She was testifying at the public sitting of the post election violence committee, headed by its Chairman, Dr Ahmed Lemu.
Ejiofor narrated how on April 18, before the release of the result of the presidential election, her husbandordered her to vacate the children and relocate to the Azare Divisional Police Headquarters, when irate youths were chanting war songs.
She said that she immediately relocated to the police barracks in a car, while her husband, who was driving another car, ran into a group of irate youths.
She said her husband, who was driving toward the police barracks, made an attempt to escape, but the irate youths got hold of him, stabbed him to death, before burning his corpse to ashes.
“After killing my husband, who they nicknamed Dan-Azare, because he was born in the area, they put tyres on his neck and set him on fire,” she said. “My children and I became helpless.They later went to our house and set it ablaze in spite of the presence of policemen.
We took refuge at the police station. The policemen failed to quell the riot, while the youths set bonfire at the entrance of the station, with the policemen watching.”
The widow suggested that the security of the area should be taken over by mobile police officers and soldiers.
Several women that were present at the panel broke down into tears as the visibly traumatised widow recounted her story.
In May, Daily Times had reported about Mrs. Joy Anozie, who till date has yet to find her husband, who went missing during the post-election violence, also in Bauchi.
