Self confessed Uhrobo Witch Ufuoma Ejenabor might have had the thought she had hammered !
In a swift move to forestall an apparent dramatic scene to re enact the Uzoma Okere Assault case by Naval Boss Arogundade which cumulated in the pay off granted by a court in the sum of 100million naira
The Lagos State House of Assembly on Monday declared i its intention to sue an actress, Mrs. Ufuoma Ejenabor, for trying to extort money from the House.
Speaker of the Assembly, Mr. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, stated this through his Chief of Staff, Mr. Segun Olusesi, while reacting to the alleged assault of Ejenabor by his aides on October 29.
Olusesi said he was driving in the convoy directly behind the pilot vehicle when Ejenabor suddenly emerged from the left and in an attempt to force herself into the speaker's convoy, hit the rear left of the bumper of the pilot vehicle with her right front bumper.
Olusesi also accused Ejenabor of damaging her own car by deliberately hitting the speaker's official Lexus Jeep.photos Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji Uzoma Okere and Self confessed Uhrobo Witch Ufuoma Ejenabor
He claimed that nobody assaulted her in any form and the photographs of her car as contained in newspaper reports could best be described as "insurance fraud and attempt to extort and blackmail the House and the speaker."
Ejenabor had alleged that her car would cost N595, 000 to repair.
The incident was, however, recorded by the aides of the Speaker and it showed part of the events that transpired.
Olusesi said immediately they noticed Ejenabor's belligerence, the Speaker ordered his aides to begin to record the events so that they would not have a scandal in their hands.
The recording showed Ejenabor hysterically shouting at the aides that she had been beaten, her phone seized and they were in trouble for damaging her car.
"You don jam bad luck! You don jam Urhobo witch. They should beat me o! They should beat me, Urhobo girl! You have to beat me. Shebi una get power,!" she screamed.
Olusesi explained that from the footage, she still had her bag intact and her phone was still with her. He also said that the video evidence showed that there was no damage to her car as was exhibited in the photographs.
Olusesi explained that the convoy was coming from the burial of the wife of a member of the House and was heading for Lagos University Teaching Hospital where another member, Mr. Rotimi Sotomiwa, lay ill. Sotomiwa died a few days after the incident.
In her reaction, Ejenabor said that her Blackberry phone was still with the speaker's aides and would be tracked.
"They beat me to collect my phone. My I-pod was in the car. They ransacked the car and took all things. They said I drove into their convoy.
Why would I do that? It happened during the day and it was on a highway. We can have a forensic check of my car and their car. Forensics don't lie," she said
Emmanuel Macaulay, who resides at the Police Officers'
Quarters in Ikeja, Lagos State, says his landlady, a female deputy
superintendent of police, ordered his eviction and brutalisation.
Mr Macaulay petitioned the Commissioner of Police, Marvel Akpoyibo, over the issue. He said that in the morning of November 22, 2010, his
landlady, Ngozi Judea, said to be serving at the Force Headquarters
Annex in Obalende, came with thugs who she ordered to forcefully evict
him from the one room he had rented from her since July 2009. "It was
early in the morning at about 7am when she came with three guys," he
said. "She used teargas on me. They beat me up, threw my things outside
and threw me down the stair case. I was only in boxers (shorts) when one
Okada man pitied me and took me to the police state command before I
went for treatment at Plato Hospital, located at PWD Bus Stop in Ikeja. I
was burning. My body was red as a result of the tear gas."
Mr Macaulay, who is a businessman and student at the University of Lagos, said in the course of the alleged brutality, he lost his
Blackberry and Nokia mobile phones and the sum of N820,000 belonging to a
client who had paid him for the purchase of a car. "Sir, please I want
you to use your good office to look into this matter and ensure justice
for the voiceless like me and help recover my stolen properties and
money," read the letter which was acknowledged by the commissioner of
police on the same day..
How it all began
According to Mr Macaulay, in June 2009 he met one Mama Ada, also resident in the same police quarters located along Oba Ladejobi Street.
She acted as the agent who introduced him to Ms Judea. One month later,
in the presence of his sister, Hope Macaulay, who was then five months
pregnant, and Mama Ada, he said he handed Ms Judea N150,000 as two years
rent payment for a one room in her boy's quarters; with his tenancy to
elapse July 2011. He said six months into his tenancy, Ms Judea first
expressed her disapproval over his fraternity with other residents of
the police quarters. This later degenerated to her cutting his power
supply when she asked him to pay exorbitant electricity fees. "Look at
the wire which supplies me electricity from her house in front," he
said. "She cut it just to ensure she frustrates me to leave before my
rent expires. When she saw I connected my light from another tenant, she
later called me one day on the phone and told me she wants me to pack
from the BQ. She never even suggested wanting to refund my money. I
don't know why but I suspect she wants to give the place to one man that
has come here several times."
Never ending investigations
At the Police Provost Unit of the Lagos State Police Command, where Mr Akpoyibo referred the case to, it was discovered that all parties
were invited in view of resolving the problem. An officer, who spoke on
condition of anonymity, said M. Judea has not being cooperative with the
case. "We investigated and we discovered she was at fault," he said.
"But she is well connected and there are people who are covering her.
But we've done our own and that is why we came and ordered he (Mr
Macaulay) should move back in."
Subsequently, officers from the unit packed Mr Macaulay's property back into the house, and asked Ms Judea to refrain from further
victimisation. The state police spokesperson, Frank Mba, said from his
enquiry, Ms Judea did not collect any money from Mr Macaulay. "The
matter is being investigated," he said. "But the lady in question says
she gave him the place purely on humanitarian grounds. As regards the
claims he was beaten, you can't see one sign of any injury. I mean if
you see someone beaten, you will know. We should not allow ourselves to
be used for blackmail."
But Mr Macaulay says he is bewildered and scared. "Why would she give me a place for free?," he said. "We are not family. There is nothing
connecting us, except the money I gave her. Right now I am living here
in fear. I am telling my story should anything happen to me so that the
world knows."
Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of trying to smuggle assault rifles
hidden in sacks of maize from neighbouring Chad to help arm a radical Islamic
sect, Boko Haram. The 37-year-old mother of seven was caught in possession of ten AK-47 rifles hidden in the sacks after travelling by boat across Lake Chad, which sits on Nigeria's remote northeastern border with Chad and Cameroon, police said.
"The illegal arms were concealed but recovered inside four bags of maize," Mohamed Jinjiri Abubakar, the Police Commissioner for Borno State, told Reuters. "Available information suggests the suspect arrested was behind the aiding of religious fundamentalists unleashing terror on innocent civilians in Borno."
Boko Haram, a radical Islamic sect behind an uprising last year which led to clashes in which hundreds died, has been blamed for torching police stations and fatal sniper attacks on police officers and local leaders in Borno in recent weeks... Local authorities have long said Boko Haram is supported by members from neighbouring countries. Hundreds of immigrants have been deported back to Chad, Cameroon and Niger as part of a security crackdown.
It is unclear how many followers Boko Haram has, but poverty, unemployment and a lack of education have meant its leaders have managed to build a cult-like following which is as much violently anti-establishment as fervently religious.
Its views are not espoused by the vast majority of Nigeria's Muslim population, the largest in sub-Saharan Africa.
An Ikeja High Court yesterday struck out the application for stay of execution of judgment pending appeal brought by Rear Admiral Harry Arogundade, and the Nigerian Navy against Court’s judgment ordering them to pay the sum of N100 million to Miss Uzoma Okere and Mr. Abdulahi Abdulazeez.
At the resumed hearing of the case before Justice Opeyemi Oke, counsel to Uzoma Okere, the judgment creditor, Jonathan Ogunsanya from the Office of the Public Defender (OPD) prayed the court to strike out the application for lack of diligent prosecution.
“My lord, I want to point out that we are yet to be served with the motion processes for the stay of execution till now despite court orders. As a result, I apply that the application be struck out for want of diligent prosecution.”
The presiding judge, Oke noted that she had ordered that all processes be served at the last hearing and agreed with the counsel by striking out the application..
“It is apparent that the judgment creditors who filed a notice of stay of execution of judgment are not ready for the case to go on. The fourth and the fifth judgment debtor filed a notice of stay of execution of judgment and this was made known to all counsel present in court that day. Since they have refused to serve the necessary processes to all involved, it is clear they are not serious with their application. The case is hereby struck out.”
Justice Oke had earlier struck out Arogundade’s application to stay the judgment by ordering him and the Navy to pay the N100 million awarded to Miss Uzoma Okere and Mr. Abdulahi Abdulazeez into an interest-yielding account until the judgment-debtors’ appeal at the Court of Appeal is determined.
Though she ordered that the publication of “unreserved apology” to the victims in The Guardian, The Nation, and THISDAY newspapers, and on the NTA, AIT, Raypower and Cool FM stations be suspended until the appeal is determines in order to save the judgment debtors unnecessary expenses in case their appeal succeeds.
While ruling on the Navy and Arogundade’s application seeking a stay of execution of the judgment she delivered on January 27, Justice Oke said a successful litigant should not be deprived of the fruits of his judgment except there are exceptional circumstances, which must be special and strong.
“Granting a stay of execution is at the discretion of the court. Such discretion must be exercised and judiciously and judicially. The judgment creditor/applicants have not adduced any special or exceptional circumstances to warrant the grant of this application,” Justice Oke held.
She had in her judgment of January 27, ordered Rear Arogundade, the Navy and four ratings to pay Miss Okere and Mr. Abdulazeez N100 million for assaulting the two. She also described the conducts of the men to Miss Okere and Abdulazeez as “barbaric” and unlawful violation of their fundamental human rights.
It will be recalled that four naval ratings – C.I. Jeremiah, S.A. Bullem, S.A. Kaniga and Francis Okolaogu – assaulted Miss Okere and Abdulazeez on November 5, 2008, for delaying them in traffic on Muri Okunola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos while on the convoy of the Rear Admiral Harry Arogundade.

Doctors are seeing more and more patients as a result, and sometimes amputation has to be performed as treatment. Many videos of these events have been posted on

A Minnesota teenager had to have his testicle amputated after
being punched in the groin by a classmate, KARE11.com reported
Friday.
David Gibbons, 14, was changing classes in his Crosby, Minn. high school when he was attacked by another student playing a game
called “sack tapping.”
David’s mother, Christy Gibbons, said it wasn’t until hours later that they realized something was wrong.
"One o'clock in the morning he woke me up and told me he was in excruciating pain," she said.
David was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Brainerd, Minn. where surgeons removed his right testicle.
And David is not the only student who has suffered the consequences of the “sack tapping” game.
"It's just gotten way out of control," said Dr. Scott Wheeler, a urologist in Brainerd, Minn. who says he performs three to four
surgeries a year on boys with ruptured testicles and other
complications as a result of “sack tapping.”

Pain is the operative word in the unfortunate story of 14-year-old
David Gibbons. It is a pain he has endured both physically and
emotionally after being punched in the groin by another student as he
changed classes at Crosby Ironton High School.
"One o'clock in the morning he woke me up and told me he was in excruciating pain," recalls Christy Gibbons, David's mom. Not long
after, David was in surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital in Brainerd having
his right testicle removed.
"This may be called a game, but it's not a game. It's dangerous and it needs to stop," said Christy.
It's a notion seconded by Dr. Scott Wheeler, a Brainerd urologist.
"It's just gotten way out of control," said Wheeler, who now performs "three to four surgeries a year" on boys with ruptured testicles and
other complications of being groin punched - with dozens more coming in
with less severe injuries. "It's high school, junior high, elementary
school," said Wheeler.
Dubbed "sack tapping" by some students, the practice is now featured in dozens of homemade videos on YouTube.
"We're gonna see who our first victim is," says a student in one video before punching an unsuspecting male student in the groin as he
walked down a school hallway.
It is painful to watch and Dr. Wheeler says increasingly common. "All parents, you need to have this talk with your kids not to do it. It's
lost its humor. It's not a game anymore. People get hurt."
"I don't know how to stop it," said David, who says he's been the recipient of similar attacks in the past. His parents pulled him out of
school and are now planning a move to a different school district.
Jamie Skjeveland, superintendent of Crosby Ironton schools, says the investigation of the incident involving David is complete, but he
declined to comment on any disciplinary action for privacy reasons.
On Wednesday morning the Gibbons are scheduled to meet with Crow Wing County Attorney Don Ryan to learn if criminal charges will be filed
against the other student.
"This kid doing that, he should definitely be held responsible for that," said Denny Gibbons, David's dad.
Doctors have told David that even though he lost a testicle in the attack, he should still be able to have children someday.
David's mom mostly wants other parents to be aware. "I seen the pain he was in. I seen what he went through every day, and it just breaks my
heart and I don't want any other child to have to go through this."

A convoy of mobile police officers, on Wednesday, assaulted passengers in the Lagos State Asset Management bus transit popularly called ‘LAGBUS' with tear gas leaving a driver and some passengers injured.
According to an eye witness, the LAGBUS with serial number 241 and license number XS584 AAA was driving out of the Ikorodu Bus Station when its path was barred by a three-vehicle convoy of mobile police officers moving on the wrong side of traffic.
Drama ensued when the captain of the LAGBUS, Mr. Peace, was ordered to drive backwards so that the police convoy could proceed.
Witnesses said the driver was unable to comply because other buses where lined up behind him. This enraged the officers and one of them opened a canister of tear gas and threw it directly into the driver's face and subsequently into the vehicle. At this point, commuters panicked and fled for their lives with some inhaling tear gas in the process.
"The bus had already loaded and wanted to come out. Those mobile police followed one way and blocked the bus. So about four or five police officers came down to meet the driver and told him to move back," said an eyewitness, Usman Abiodun a LAGBUS driver. "Another bus (my bus) was behind my captain's (peace's) bus, so there was no chance for him to go back. Before everybody knew a thing, they had sprayed tear gas inside the bus. It poured on the captain's face and another woman sitting behind the driver. All passengers ran away from the bus. The captain has not opened his opened his eyes. Peace's eyes are swollen. We had to carry him to Alausa but he still has not opened his eyes."
Abuse of law
Though two traffic cops and some road safety officers were in front of the bus station when the incident happened, the mobile police officers went unchallenged.
Attempts to speak to the traffic officers on duty proved abortive as they fled the scene immediately after the incident.
