UNITED NATIONS - The Chairman of the African Union (AU) Commission, Jean Ping, at the weekend “strongly” condemned Thursday’s killing of a Nigerian peacekeeper with the UN-AU Mission in Darfur (UNAMID).He also denounced the killing as a “cowardly and deliberate act”. In a statement made available to the news organisations in New York by the AU Observer Mission to the UN, Ping stressed the need for all concerned “to facilitate the work of UNAMID”.He called for full co-operation with it in its endeavour to contribute to the “restoration of lasting peace, security and stability in Darfur”.Ping reiterated the AU’s determination, working closely with the UN and the larger international community, to do whatever it could to continue supporting the peace efforts in Darfur.A Nigerian officer died on Thursday evening during the hijack of his car in the strife-torn Sudanese region. The incident took place in Nyala, the capital city of the South Darfur State, where unidentified attackers gunned down the military officer as he was opening the gate of his residence to park a vehicle. The peacekeeper was rushed to a nearby UNAMID Medical Centre for treatment, but died on arrival. The military officer’s vehicle was later found abandoned about seven kilometres away from Nyala. It will be recalled that a Nigerian peacekeeper was also shot and killed during an ambush of a UNAMID escort patrol near Nyala on March 17.Nigeria has lost 12 peacekeepers on UN Missions to some trouble spots in 2008, most of them in Darfur.

At least there are still honest people in naija If it were the Politicians all of them will be criminals in their family ! • Papa Matthew was a teacher, his 12 children and 12 children in-law are. He also has 8 grandchildren teachers But for the Nwigwe family of Umuezuo, Umuokirika Ekwereazu in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, teaching is a way of life. The family holds a rich tradition in teaching, spanning many generations. Living index The truth is whenever you walk into that family and ask for a teacher, you will have over thirty responses – all teachers; husbands of teachers, wives of teachers, fathers of teachers, children of teachers, grandchildren of teachers, and as well brothers and sisters and mothers of teachers who have teacher cousins and are themselves teachers. Indeed, the family’s achievement in the profession is amazing and deserves golden chapters on the elegant pages of history. In fact, the family has produced about 40 teachers at various levels and generations. Late Pa Matthew Nwigwe, the patriarch of the family, set the ball rolling in 1921 when he began a teaching career that spanned four and half decades. He retired in 1965. According to family sources, the job took Pa Nwigwe “to almost all parts of what is now Imo State and beyond including Umuohiagu, Okwukwu, Nkwerre, Amaigbo, Uzoagba, Amuzi Ahiara, Umuhu, Lagwa, Ihitte Ezinihitte, Umuapu, Obinze, Umunoha, Umuoparaoma, Eziagbogu, Otulu, Aguneze, Obodo Ujichi, Lorji, Akpim, Nnarambia and Umuokirika.” Pa Matthew, the grand old teacher and don of a teachers’ clan was born in 1897, Pa Nwigwe passed on in 1987. Escaping into teaching 9jabook sources gathered that late Pa Nwigwe’s quest for education was not well received at the time. According to the source, “consequently, he found his way out of his parents’ tight grip to Calabar where his budding desire to go to school blossomed. He returned home from Calabar already a school boy, to the chagrin of his parents and some of his brothers. The only one to protect his interest and defend him from molestation and near ostracism was his immediate elder brother, Ugochukwu Minahakwu. After a full year of heroic determination close to stubbornness, he was allowed to continue schooling, but not without submitting to such derisive names as ‘onyeumengwu’ (lazy bones), onyeujo oru (one who fears work) and ori-okporo. That was about 1917.” The vogue then was that able-bodied young men like him accompanied their parents to farms and markets. But he chose to be different, to be his own man, to seek knowledge so that he can bequeath same unto others. As one of the pioneers of the teaching profession in Mbaise, he was a household name. He was a role model and not a few held him in high esteem. In fact, he made his kinsmen embrace the chalk and blackboard profession. Interestingly, those he influenced were his children and they decided to follow his footsteps. At last, all but one of his 12 children became teachers. And all of them married teachers, including the ‘black sheep’ of the family, Chief Lucian Nwigwe. Even when his first son, Chief John Nwigwe lost his wife, Cecilia, a teacher, he got married to another teacher, Beatrice, who is currently the headmistress of Community School Eziama, Oparanadim, Ahiazu LGA. Pa Nwigwe’s surviving children include, Chief John Nwigwe, who retired in 1984 as the pioneer principal of Ime-Onicha Secondary School in Ezinihitte; Dr Clement Nwigwe; Rev. Fr. Professor Boniface Nwigwe of Religious Studies Department, University of Port Harcourt, Rev. Sis. Pepertua Nwigwe, Principal, Regina Pacci’s Secondary School, Abuja, Rose Okoroafor, Rita Igwe, Chief Lucian Nwigwe and Mr. Joseph Nwigwe. The following have been forced by death to drop their chalk: Mrs Pauline Madu, Chief Mrs. Juliana Anyanwu and Rev. Fr. (Dr) Lambert Nwigwe. Third generation teachers Instructively, eight of Pa Nwigwe’s children also became teachers. They include late Lilian Emenalom, who taught at Imo State Polytechnic Owerri, Stella Uba, Edith Ndukuba and Akuchinyere Nwigwe, lecturer, Imo State Polytechnic. In the same vein, many of his grand children are married to children. Why the teaching craze Now, why is teaching the favourite profession of the Nwigwes and their offspring? Is it a matter of choice? What role did the patriarch of the family play in his children’s choice of career? Offering insightful perspectives into the family’s choice of career, Chief John Nwigwe admitted that it is a function of nature and nurture. According to him, the siblings were not coerced to go into teaching but chose to do so on their own free will. He explained that due to the exemplary conduct of their father it became natural for them to emulate him, adding that he had no regret whatsoever moulding the character of children as it were. Describing teaching as a noble profession, the 82-year-old man, who was recently celebrated Onyima, said it was a coincidence that they also married teachers. Speaking with 9jabook sources , late Pa Nwigwe’s granddaughter, Lovelyn, said that being born into a family of teachers is a fascinating experience. An exciting experience worth applauding ? Lovelyn, who read Theatre Arts at the University of Calabar, said: “It is amazing, fascinating really. We are a closely-knit family, everybody is teaching everybody at every point in time. Our family members are level headed. I think the biggest advantage of coming from such a family is that everybody is well-informed. Everybody here recognizes the beauty of unrestricted education. It is difficult to see anybody in the entire family in his or her late teens who is not a graduate or already in a higher institution. I wouldn’t exchange the experience with any other.” She said that on account of the family’s accomplishment in teaching and education in general, the family enjoys a measure of respect and recognition. She posited that it is not impossible for more of the family members to embrace teaching in the future. Perhaps the Pa Matthew Nwigwe family deserves a place in the Guinness Book of Records as the family with the most number of teachers anywhere. Who says great things don’t exist in Nigeria? They sure do ! That is why we still have someone as great as Yaradua still ruling us ! Guniness book of records

Recent News Flash International Exports ? Recent pimpmynaija sources have spoken of Exporting these babies abroad and making arrangements with western stars like madonna to supply them with good African babies . The last may not have been heard about the baby racket thriving in the country. Not long ago, the activities of a woman, who camps pregnant teenage girls and cater for them till they deliver their babies, were exposed. It was believed that the woman trades in babies, in the name of giving them out for adoption. However, it has been discovered that there are actually more “factories” of the babies in the country than earlier imagined. It is indeed, a racket. Curiously, the mafia, which runs the business, is believed to buy into government as well as law enforcement agencies and, therefore, remain untouched. pimpmynaija sources observed that the business is shrouded in deceit. The owners and operators claim to camp teenage pregnant girls and taking care of them for charity. They have initiated a website which they claim is a summer camp and lure such girls there with deadly intents. However, they have failed to say what becomes of the babies after delivery or how their bodies are disposed, in case of death. Investigation of the hospitals has, however, revealed that there is more to the activities of the operators of the teenage girls homes than meets the eye. A known factory of Horrors & Trade : Inside the Mercy Maternity Clinic/Nma Charity Home and Child Care Centre, Umunkpeyi Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State, which was in the news recently when the police arrested its operator, girls in their teens and early 20s mill around when pimpmynaija sources visited. The girls form small groups, discussing only God-knows-what. Some sit by themselves appearing to be in sober mood or wearing pensive looks. Although they come from different places, looking different, in terms of built, they are brought together by common destiny or fate. The agony-ridden faces are reflective of the circumstances of their camping. Eating The Forbiden Fruit at such a young age : All the girls have eaten the forbidden fruit at the wrong time and it is not difficult to tell. Their grotesque figures tell the story. They are all at various stages of pregnancy. These young pregnant girls, about 50 of them, are crammed into the few available rooms in the home, owned by Mrs. Lillian Achomba, a nurse. When pimpmynaija sources visited the ‘baby factory’ three weeks ago, the home had bounced back to life after the raid some weeks earlier by the X-Squad Unit of the Nigeria Police on allegation that Achomba was trafficking in pregnant teenage girls. The raid did not finally stop the wheels of the factory turning, as it were. The Commissioner of Police in-charge of the X-Squad Unit had said that Achomba also operates a private mortuary and cemetery for preservation and burial of any of the girls and/or their babies who died at the home. He said that police operatives dug up one of the graves and discovered a fresh body of an infant with its mother during the raid. Sales bonanzas : “When any of them delivers, the baby is sold for N150,000 and the children whose HIV status is negative are offered at prices from N200,000 and above depending on the sex of the child. This woman is so rich that she bought over all the security agencies in the state and also highly connected in the state,” the police chief said. The Evil Nurse Achomba Speaks : "They lied against me" The light-complexioned woman running the home, however, told pimpmynaija sources that she was framed up as a result of a problem in her community. Claiming that the pregnant girls were in the home at their volition, she volunteered that a new girl was brought to her shortly before the reporter arrived. Incidentally, the woman’s mien changed completely when the reporter began to probe into the activities of the centre. It was like touching a tiger by the tail, as she became hostile threatening fire and brimstone. Here was a woman, dressed in the robe of civility when the writer arrived, claiming she had no skeleton in her cupboard but only interested in helping underage ladies, who could not restrain themselves from sexual liaisons and thus became pregnant too early. But when the reporter switched on his tape recorder for a formal interview she became visibly uncomfortable. Her face reddened when she was asked the whereabouts of the children born in the home. Having waited for an answer for what seemed like eternity without one, except blazing eyes, the writer fired again: “How do you recoup the expenses incurred in taking care of the pregnant girls until they put to bed?” Family of Child traffickers: Enter Mr Achomba ! At that point, Achomba had become so agitated that she insisted on inviting in her younger brother, Ukandu Achomba. The siblings then consulted and decided that they must get clearance from their lawyer before responding to the questions. Strangely, the lawyer ordered the duo to maintain sealed lips. All efforts by pimpmynaija sources to make him lift the gag order was rebuffed. pimpmynaija sources had a bad experience in the hands of some youths believed to be working for the centre. On Monday, April 20, a group of four men, reeking of alcohol and marijuana ambushed the reporter and snatched his digital camera that had photos of the camp as well as some of the teenage pregnant girls loitering around the area. He was issued a stern warning not to be sighted in the vicinity again. In the same vein, Achomba prevented the pregnant girls from speaking with pimpmynaija sources, as she ordered them into their rooms. State of the home One of the characteristics of the home is the prevalence of rats, lizards and cockroaches. Native fowls were seen doing the marathon with the cockroaches all over the place, as rats dashed across in all directions. According to an inside source, deaths occur in the home regularly. This is attributable to lack of qualified personnel and inadequate facilities. “The shambolic state of the healthcare facilities in the centre is a problem. In fact, the place operates like a traditional maternity home. The equipment, where they exist, are neither adequate nor safe. There are no qualified doctors or nurses. You can imagine what happens in an emergency, that is if any of the girls develops complications during childbirth,” the source said. An evangelist (names withheld) told pimpmynaija sources that there is no doubt the operators of the home are well connected. Otherwise, he argues, the place would not remain in existence till date, considering the hair raising stories emanating therefrom. Pregnant in, no baby out According to him, “you do not see any of the girls leaving with a new baby. While pregnant, sometimes you see some of them in the market or in the front of the building relaxing, but when they are leaving, after putting to bed, you don’t see the baby. Something is wrong there. There must be something fishy going on.” Another pastor from the area corroborated this position. He disclosed that sometime ago, one of his distant relations became pregnant and disappeared and when she came back several months later, there was no child with her. It was suspected that she took up residence in the camp for the period of her pregnancy. Since they lack the wherewithal to follow up the matter and also avoid scandal that could jeopardize the girl’s future, they chose to let the sleeping dog lie. He added that the lady is now married. When pimpmynaija sources traced the lady to her matrimonial home in Aba and wanted to hear from the horse’s mouth as it were, she dissolved in tears. “I don’t want to say anything. I have nothing to say. Please, don’t drive me away from my husband’s house,” she pleaded, sobbing softly. An old deal A taxi driver, who identified himself as Isiala, alleged that the baby trade has been going on for quite some time. He claimed that not too long ago, a woman from Anambra State chartered his 504 Peugeot cab and he took her to one of the popular camps. According to the Umunkpeyi indigene, about 30 minutes later, the woman emerged with a child of about four months. He observed that with the swiftness with which she came out, it appeared the deal had been signed and sealed before that day. He added that the woman was so relaxed in the manner of someone playing a familiar game. Another source told pimpmynaija sources that some youths watch the back of the operators of the clinic even as the state police allegedly offer security protection. Hence, each time police from Abuja raid the place, it bounces back shortly afterwards. And going by the experience of pimpmynaija sources with the police in Abia State, it appears that the complicity theory may be credible. For instance, all efforts to make the state Police Public Relations Officer, Ali Okechukwu, to speak on the matter, was futile. Whenever his telephone number was called to discuss the matter, he would claim to be either driving or attending one meeting or the other. Even when a text message was sent to him, he chose not to respond. This seems to support the position of the commissioner in-charge of the X-Squad, CP Okorie, who reportedly said that the woman has “bought over all the security agencies in the state.” He added that investigations revealed that the clinic is not registered. Yet it continued to operate, even after the police from Abuja ordered its closure. When contacted, Mr. Sam Hart, Chief Press Secretary to Abia State governor, Chief Theodore A. Orji, said he was not aware of the existence of the camp. He, however, admitted that he is “aware that such places exist in some remote parts of the state.” Other factories It appears that illegal baby trade is really booming in Abia or so it seems. For instance, pimpmynaija sources investigation revealed the existence of another centre in Aba, where babies are freely sold. The centre is located in an uncompleted two-storey building off Nicholas Street, by Brass junction, off Aba-Owerri Road. It is tucked away in between high walls and a massive black gate. The hospital has no signpost, but home to teenage pregnant girls whose babies are suspected to be sold when they are delivered. The pregnant girls, whose number could not be confirmed, are quartered in dingy rooms. All day, the ladies remain inside their rooms, only peeping through the windows to see the world outside. But when night falls, they perch like vultures on the decking of the unroofed building savouring the fresh air they had missed all day. Ready Market pimpmynaija sources learnt that the hospital is well-patronized by those who need babies. In fact, in many instances, the source said, buyers queue, waiting for the girls to put to bed in order to snap up the babies. The source said the location of the hospital is an added advantage, as a buyer would simply melt into the crowd after leaving the premises. According to an inside source, an average of eight girls share a small room. The number, the source explained, could actually be higher, depending on the number of inmates at a given time. On the modus operandi, the source volunteered: “When the girls come, the hospital begins to take care of them until they are delivered of their babies. They prepare their food themselves, in turns and eat from the same pot. They hardly go out once they are admitted into the hospital. Beans is a regular feature on the menu because of the nutritional content.” Community sex/baby making The source further said: “Sometimes, some boys are brought in to make love to some of the girls who are in heat, so to say. Those who introduce the girls go home with between N5,000 and N7, 000 depending on the stage of the pregnancy at the time of arrival. If a girl is less than four months pregnant, the person who introduced her to the hospital gets N5,000 but if the pregnancy is five months and above, the person is rewarded with N7,000. And when a girl delivers safely, she is paid off with between N40,000 and N50,000 depending on how much time spent there. pimpmynaija sources tried to see the doctor in charge on two occasions, but he was said to be unavailable. The undercover reporter was, however, requested to leave his contact address and telephone numbers. But two weeks afterwards, the hospital is yet to make any contact. Sex-defined price tag The price of a bay is determined and dependent on the sex. While a female child could sell for between N300,000 and N350,000, a male child fetches between N350,000 and N400,000. So, while the ‘social mothers,’ as they are known, are made to believe that their babies will be put up for adoption by willing foster parents, with the prospect of a guaranteed future, the fact remains that they are mere money spinners for the doctors. However, to create a semblance of a legitimate transaction, the baby merchants brandish phony documents. The source hinted that the rate of deaths in the hospital is high, attributing it to poor and inadequate medical attention. Because of the pricing formula, based on the sex of the babies, a lady who operates a scan, revealed that girls whose tests show they are carrying boys, get better medical attention because the product/commodity she bears attracts more money. He did not say how the corpses of dead babies are discarded. A former staffer of the hospital, who identified himself as Morris, alleged that workers were usually meant to take compulsory oath of secrecy by swearing to a juju not to divulge any information about the place to anyone no matter the circumstances. Unorthodox Stock Exchanges A certain private hospital on Okigwe Road, Aba, was recently fingered as a baby factory. When pimpmynaija sources visited the hospital, very prominent, at an end of the street where rugs and carpets are sold, it was locked. However, peeping through the broken glass door, it was discovered that the ceiling fan, in the front office, was on. Mr. Ndubuisi Ekeh, who sells electrical gadgets beside the hospital, described it as a market. According to him, at the place, babies are sold, like beans cake, adding that NAPTIP raided the place some time ago. Speaking with pimpmynaija sources, Mrs. Ijeoma Okoronkwo, zonal head, National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Human Persons and Other Related Matters (NAPTIP, Enugu zone, said the organization is working on the hospital’s case and other teenage camp centres in Aba. The NAPTIP chief explained that the medical director of the hospital is trying to stop the agency’s investigation and prosecution. “We know he sells babies in the name of adoption,” she said, adding: “There are reports of so many other areas where babies are sold in the area. We are investigating them. It is assuming an alarming proportion around the South East and NAPTIP is not taking it lightly.” She argued that the illegal baby trade is booming because of the high profit in the business and low risk, volunteering that the agency was determined to nip it in the bud.

Join now !http://www.9jabook.com/group/nigerianonlinepoliticalparty HOW EASY CAN IT BE TODAY ! As governor oshiomole was recently arranged to take an all expense paid trip to heaven .Word is out that President Yardy is planning a security shakeup as the Revolution looms within the Nigerian Airwaves and the internet ! REVOLUTION NIGERIA ! It was shock enough to learn of the conspiracy to overthrow the government of Nigeria by violence, for Nigeria has been one of the most stable of Africa's new nations. But it seemed almost incredible that the ringleader could have been the bespectacled chief prisoner in the dock of a Lagos courtroom last week—the respected Chief Obafemi Awolowo. Educated by Protestant missionaries and still a nonsmoking teetotaler, Awolowo worked his way to a London University law degree, served five years as the solid, efficient Prime Minister of his native Western Region and headed Nigeria's opposition party, the Action Group. Before independence in 1960, he was influential in drawing up Nigeria's constitution. Would Awolowo, a masterful organizer, really get mixed up in a half-baked, amateurish plot to wipe out his nation's top leadership with a handful of explosives, arms, and rebels trained in nearby Ghana? Winks from the Dock. Indeed he would—and did—insisted Nigeria's federal prosecutor in the marathon, ten-month trial that filled 1,400 pages of testimony. Witness after witness—53 in all—came into court to testify that Awolowo planned to topple federal Prime Minister Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa last Sept. 21 with the help of 200 trained men, on the eve of a state visit by India's Jawaharlal Nehru. A government witness testified that on Awolowo's instructions he had carried a check to purchase arms in Ghana. Police claimed that they had dug up four cartridges hidden in Awolowo's backyard. Although conducted with grave decorum, the trial had its interruptions. One prosecution witness complained that some of the accused in the dock were giving him the juju version of the evil eye—a wink. Awolowo, denying all the accusations, said there was insufficient evidence to prove the case, and declared that some of the testimony was obtained under duress. In a half-hour closing oration, Awolowo frankly lamented that "the invaluable services which . . . I can still render will be lost to the country." The judge, George Sowemimo, who was openly distressed by the entire proceeding, said he had no choice but to convict. In a nine-hour decision delivered last week, he gave Awolowo ten years in prison for treasonable felony, just a bit milder than the 15-year prison term meted out to Awolowo's crony, Politico Tony Enahoro, a few days earlier. Headless Opposition. With the convictions of Awolowo and Enahoro, the opposition Action Group is virtually decapitated. But the party still enjoys the loyal backing of Western Nigeria's predominant, advanced Yoruba tribe. The clannish Yorubas will almost certainly reorganize to challenge the North and East once more. At week's end many a Nigerian was wondering how long his country's delicate balance of regional rivalries, which has been the key to Africa's most admired democracy, could last. Unperturbed, Sir Abubakar, a Moslem from the North, went ahead with plans to convert Nigeria on Oct. 1 from a British dominion to a republic within the British Commonwealth. Sir Abubakar will remain the real boss. The changeover will merely install a ceremonial President as head of state to replace Queen Elizabeth, who is now sovereign. Accusations and Fingers pointing everywhere that Yaradua is to be toppled soon by a conspiracy being planned by the Nations Brightest politicians.Speculations are increasing about this unpopular democracy that has reeked of corruption military pomposity and a indiscriminate disregard for Human Life by the political 300 over ruling the persian hordes We decry this outrage and ask for Yaradua to step down ! There was a major security shake-up yesterday in Edo State, following alleged assassination attempt on Governor Adams Oshiomhole, by unidentified persons reportedly working in collaboration with some security men attached to his office. 9jabook sources gathered from a security source that the incident which happened on Wednesday, led to the immediate redeployment of some security chiefs attached to the governor and his wife, Clara. Those relieved of their duties include the Aide-de-camp (ADC) to the governor and his wife; the Chief Security Officer (CSO) and as well as the escort commander. Also affected in the shake up are the regular uniform policemen and the mobile policemen and other undercover security men posted to the office of the governor. The development led yesterday to the cancellation of official engagements of the governor outside the state capital, even as new sets of mobile policemen from nearby formations have been drafted to keep surveillance on his official residence. Meanwhile, Edo State Police Commissioner, Mr. Dalami Yar’Adua, and other senior police officers in the state held an emergency meeting yesterday with a view to finding a safe way of handling the volatile security matter. Also, leaders of the Action Congress (AC) in the state were said to have held a secret meeting where they discussed the latest development. Details of the two meetings could not be obtained as at press time. A statement by Special Adviser to the governor of Public Affairs and Strategy, Mr. Eric Osagie, said: "There has been a change in the security apparatus of the governor of Edo state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole. The affected personnel in the strategic overhaul include the ADC, CSO and the escort commander of the Government House. "Being officers of the Nigeria Police Force such assignment and re-assignments of the rank and file, falls within the jurisdiction of the police organisation which effected the reassignment of the aforementioned officers. "The exercise we believe will strengthen the internal security processes of the governor and the Government House and allow the governor time to focus on the developmental challenges confronting the state. "We urge the good people of Edo State to continue to support the comrade governor in his determination to build a state we all can be proud of, economically buoyant, socially conducive and a peaceful home for all." Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state police command, Mr. Peter Ogboi, confirmed the development but said it was a normal security re-organisation bearing in mind that some of those affected have been with the governor since he assumed power. 9jabook sources investigations however revealed the cause of the assassination plot and how it was eventually aborted. A reliable source close to the governor said before now, there had been two major camps among the security men attached to Oshiomhole’s office, with each faction pledging loyalty to the ADC of the CSO. The friction between the two security chiefs reportedly led to several security lapses with each of the camps refusing to admit responsibility for the lapses. Prominent among the security breaches was the invasion of the governor’s office by one unidentified woman few weeks ago, who was suspected to have been armed with native charms. Our source said: "Could you imagine, in a place where you do not have armed security men at two main gates, a woman not known to the governor nor any members of his family entered the Government House and came very close to the governor without the security men notice."The woman believed to be armed with some native charms to harm the governor, entered the crowd and grabbed the governor as he was leaving his office for an engagement within his office. "You will agree with me that if that woman happened to be a gunman, he would have easily killed the governor in the full glare of security men." It was gathered that the latest shake up was coming on the heels of a petition by another arm of security details attached to the office of the governor, which raised alarm on the glaring threat to the governor’s life. Though details of the petition could not be obtained, it was learnt that it alluded to the unresolved crisis among the security men attached to the office of the governor, saying that the development had led to the compromising of vital security matters. The petition was said to have jolted the governor who immediately alerted the necessary security departments within and outside the state. When newsmen visited the governor’s office yesterday, new security measures were introduced as visitors were thoroughly searched by security men before being allowed to enter the premises. Those who could not offer plausible reasons for being in the place were turned back

Avoid eating chicken wings frequently - ladies, especially; a true story...! A friend of mine recently had a growth in her womb and she underwent an operation to remove the. The cyst removed was filled with a dark colored blood. She thought that she would be recovered after the surgery but! she was terribly wrong. A relapse occurred just a few months later. Distressed , she rushed down to her gynecologist for a consultation. During her consultation, her doctor asked her a question that puzzled her. He ask if she was a frequent consumer of chicken wings and she replied yes wondering as to how, he knew of her eating habits. You see, the truth is in this modern day and age; chickens are injected with steroids to accelerate their growth so that the needs of this society can be met. This need is none other than the need for food. Chickens that are injected with steroids are usually given the shot at the neck or the wings.. Therefore, it is in these places that the highest concentration of steroids exists. These steroids have terrifying effects on the body as it accelerates growth. It has an even more dangerous effect in the presence of female hormones, this leads to women being more prone to the growth of a cyst in the womb. Therefore, I advise the people out there to watch their diets and to lower their frequency of consuming chicken wings! People, who receive this email, please forward it to your friends and loved ones. I am sure no one wants to see him or her suffer! Regards, Sharon How SingaporeMedical Association

Learn to use Solar Power and even design your own .We will help you in importing Solar power devices from china ! email solar@systemini.net for more details . FACTS have begun to emerged how the poor electricity supply in the country has led and contributed to factory closures and declining manufacturing sector in Nigeria, leading millions of job loses. In fact, in the Textile/garment as well as Chemical/Leather sectors of the economy, constant power failure in the country has either led to and was a major factor to closure of not less than one hundred factories scattered across the country. According to vanguard investigations, while twelve manufactory companies in both Textile/Garment and Chemical/Leather sectors, three had their workers reduced from five thousand (5000) to seven hundred (700). Confirming this unfortunate development and the steady de-industrialisatio n in the country, General Secretary of the National Union of Textile, Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria (NUTGTWN) and a Vice President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Issa Aremu, declared that among the factories that closed down as a result of electricity failure included “Tarneries, Hufawa, Intertan, Multitan, Nakudu, Kano Textile Limited, Afrimpex and Harmatan (all based in Kano state) as well as most of leather industries in the state . In lagos, are Dunlop Industries, Leanard Shoes and Batta Shoes and Michelin Nigeria Limited, in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state. Also poor power supply was attributed to have contributed majorly to the closure of the under-listed factories included Enpee, Nelco, NSF, Weaving and Processing, Swantex, Textile Specialities, ASSAN Industries, Jaybee, K-Issardas, Bhojaraj, Teev-Gold Star, Amarito-Umbrella, AD Gulas (all textile factories based in Ilupeju, in Lagos). Others are Five star, Afprint, Daltex, Varaman, Royal Spinners, GDM, Aswani, Arcee, Rekha, King Carpet, Emar, President, Elite, Moon Diamond, Pacific, Eurosport, Barclays Clothing, ITI, Wabterry, Nigeria Fishing Net, Shiram, Monarch, Aflon (all based in Isolo), Texlon, Diamond Spinners, United Spinners, Top star, Tarpaulin, Steep, Coats West Africa, Panache, Pyramid, Central Bag Subaco, Globe Spinning (based in Amuwo Odofin). Abel Abu, First Spinners, Century and Platinum (based in Ikorodu), Kay Industries, NTM, Specomill, Reliance, Oriental, Madhu and Encee (based in Ikeka.) Vanguard investigation confirmed because of unstable and failing power supply, Gombe based Ashaka Cement shed its work force from 2000 to 200, Lafarge, Ewekoro, ogun state, 1500 to 250 and its plant in Shagamu, 1500 to 250. Investigation has also revealed that companies like Cadbury, Nestle foods have for the past 15 years not used public supply to power their plants because of the sensitivity of their equipment that must not be exposed to even a minute power failure. At the kick-starting of a national mass protest in Lagos against steady de-industrialisatio n of Nigeria as a result of increasing factory closures and the urgent need to re-industrialise Nigeria, Private Sector Union (PSU), shouted it loudly that lack of steady power supply had remained the greatest threat to the manufacturing sector in Nigeria and called on government to urgently address the issue. Speaking to Vanguard, General Secretary of the National Union of Textile and Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria (NUTGTWN), Comrade Issa Aremu, lamented that in spite of huge money allegedly expended on the power sector, Nigeria is still walloping in darkness. He argued no country has even industrialised without stable power supply and advised government to wake up to its responsibility and guarantee the citizens stable power supply to kick-start economy to meet the challenges of the day. Again, in a pre-May Day Statement jointly issued by Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), the two labour centres echoed the need for efficient power supply. The labour leaders used the opportunity to once again kicked against government full deregulation of the downstream oil sector of the economy in the midst of the global economic recession which serious economies in the world are bailing out companies and intervening in their economies to fight the recession. Addressing journalists on behalf of the two labour centres, Deputy President of NLC, Comrade Peters Adeymi, said: “We also note with grave concerns the decision of government to move for the removal of subsidies on petroleum and full deregulation of the down stream sector of the oil industry as part of the neo-liberal orthodoxies of the World Bank. This decision is contrary to approaches adopted by developed economies that champion the capitalism and the 'market logic'. These countries like the U.S, Britain, Germany, France, Spam and others have been using state funds in billion of dollars lo bail out industries in virtually all sectors as ways to preserve jobs, income and welfare of their people and their national economies. The point is that they recognize that the people and their citizens come first and so government must be responsive and responsible to the people. For our government, its strategy of solving the problem is high on promises and low on implementation.” “A quick example is Government planned disbursement of N70 Billion textile industry bailout that is yet to see the light of the day 3 years after such promise, but it took the Obama administration well under 90 days to get over $700 billion released and pumped into the I'.S economy. We in the labour movement call on Government to show similar commitment and patriotism exhibited by the Nigerian people through demonstration of concrete political will in tackling these economic crises. We are quick to reiterate that we reject government renewed bid to remove subsidy and the implementation of full deregulation of the down stream sector of the oil industry. The multiplier effects will exacerbate hardship and poverty amongst our people, just as the timing is wrong, the logic of the policy is also skewed in favour of the few elites in society and anti-people.” http://www.freesunpower.com/ http://www.clean-energy-ideas.com/articles/build_your_own_solar_panel.html http://www.globalsources.com/gsol/I/Portable-solar/p/sm/1010757986.htm http://www.solar-power-answers.co.uk/index.php

Norwegian referee Tom Ovrebo was Thursday smuggled out of Britain by police who feared for his safety because of his role in Chelsea‘s exit from the Champions League at the hands of Barcelona. Ovrebo turned down four strong penalty appeals by Chelsea, who lost the semi-final on the away goals rule after Andres Iniesta scored in the 93rd minute of the second leg to level the scores at 1-1 on the night and on aggregate. At the end of the game, Ovrebo was confronted by a furious Didier Drogba and had to be escorted down the tunnel by a group of Chelsea stewards who had difficulty restraining the striker. Fearing reprisals from furious fans, police changed Ovrebo‘s hotel before organising his exit from the country, according to former international referee Graham Poll. Poll, now a media pundit, revealed, ”This morning he‘s being smuggled out of our country under police escort this is a referee of a football match. That is a disgrace. “When he booked in a hotel they had to change the hotel he was staying at because of the fear that maybe fans would find him.” Ovrebo’s situation has worrying echoes of the hounding of Swedish referee Anders Frisk, who retired from the game in 2005 after receiving death threats in the wake of another ill-tempered meeting between Chelsea and Barcelona. Frisk had sent Drogba off in the first-leg of a second round match and was accused by Chelsea‘s then-boss Jose Mourinho of having invited Frank Rijkaard, the Barca coach at the time, into his room at half-time. Drogba faces ban over ref confrontation Didier Drogba could be facing a lengthy ban from European football after angrily confronting Norwegian referee Tom Ovrebo at the end of Chelsea‘s controversial Champions League semifinal second leg match with Barcelona in London on Wednesday. A stoppage time goal from Andres Iniesta earned Barca a 1-1 draw on the night and on aggregate and sent the Catalans into a final meeting with Manchester United at the end of this month on the away goals rule. Chelsea had legitimate grounds for complaint after being denied at least two good penalty appeals by the referee – who was still considered good enough by UEFA to officiate at last year‘s Euro 2008 championships – but that will not be regarded as any excuse by UEFA when they come to judge Drogba‘s conduct. Ovrebo had to be escorted from the pitch by a platoon of stewards with Drogba apparently bent on a physical confrontation. To compound his intimidating behaviour, the Cote d’Ivoire international then turned to a television camera and screamed into it, describing the official as a “fu..ing disgrace.” Chelsea is also likely to be in hot water with UEFA after infuriated fans threw flags at the officials and the Barcelona bench on the final whistle. looks like harware go hard for chelsea dis time o ! THIS APPEARED ON http://www.ask9ja.com a classified naija site LIST (don't forget to read the response to the original message) http://ask9ja.9jamovies.com/asknaija/index.php?view=showad&adid=136&cityid=51 What am I doing wrong? Okay, I'm tired of beating around the bush. I'm a beautiful (spectacularly beautiful) 25 year old girl. I'm articulate and classy. I'm not from Lagos. I'm looking to get married to a guy who makes at least half a million a month. I know how that sounds, but keep in mind that a million a month is middle class in lagos, so I don't think I'm overreaching at all. Are there any guys who make 700K or more on this board? Any wives? Could you send me some tips? I dated a business man who makes average around 400 - 450. But that's where I seem to hit a roadblock. 450,000 won't get me to VIsland. I know a girl in my class who was married to a banker and lives in Lekki phase 1, and she's not as pretty as I am, nor is she a great genius. So what is she doing right? How do I get to her level? Here are my questions specifically: - Where do you single rich men hang out? Give me specifics- bars, restaurants, gyms,Owambes Burials ! Men Am desperate ! -What are you looking for in a mate? Be honest guys, you won't hurt my feelings -Is there an age range I should be targeting (I'm 25)? - Why are some of the women living lavish lifestyles in ikeja Allen Avenue so plain? I've seen really 'plain chichis' boring types who have nothing to offer married to incredibly wealthy guys. I've seen drop dead gorgeous girls in singles bars in the Ynot and Coliseum. What's the story there? - Jobs I should look out for? Everyone knows - lawyer, investment banker, doctor. How much do those guys really make? And where do they hang out? Where do the hedge fund guys hang out? - How you decide marriage vs. just a girlfriend? I am looking for MARRIAGE ONLY Please hold your insults - I'm putting myself out there in an honest way. Most beautiful women are superficial; at least I'm being up front about it. I wouldn't be searching for these kind of guys if I wasn't able to match them - in looks, culture, sophistication, and keeping a nice home and hearth. it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests PostingID: 432279810 THE ANSWER Dear Pers-431649184: I read your posting with great interest and have thought meaningfully about your dilemma. I offer the following analysis of your predicament. Firstly, I'm not wasting your time, I qualify as a guy who fits your bill; that is I make more than N1Million per month. That said here's how I see it. Your offer, from the prospective of a guy like me, is plain and simple a crappy business deal. Here's why. Cutting through all the B.Sheet ! ., what you suggest is a simple trade: you bring your looks to the party and I bring my money. Fine, simple. But here's the rub, your looks will fade and my money will likely continue into perpetuity...in fact, it is very likely that my income increases but it is an absolute certainty that you won't be getting any more beautiful! So, in economic terms you are a depreciating asset and I am an earning asset. Not only are you a depreciating asset, your depreciation accelerates! Let me explain, you're 25 now and will likely stay pretty hot for the next 5 years, but less so each year. Then the fade begins in earnest. By 35 stick a fork in you! So in Banking/Investment terms, we would call you a trading position, not a buy and hold...hence the rub...marriage. It doesn't make good business sense to "buy you" (which is what you're asking) so I'd rather lease. In case you think I'm being cruel, I would say the following. If my money were to go away, so would you, so when your beauty fades I need an out. It's as simple as that. So a deal that makes sense is dating, not marriage. Separately, I was taught early in my career about efficient markets. So, I wonder why a girl as "articulate, classy and spectacularly beautiful" as you has been unable to find your sugar daddy. I find it hard to believe that if you are as gorgeous as you say you are that the N700K hasn't found you, if not only for a tryout. By the way, you could always find a way to make your own money and then we wouldn't need to have this difficult conversation. With all that said, I must say you're going about it the right way. Classic "pump and dump." I hope this is helpful, and if you want to enter into some sort of lease, let me know.

The Ekiti State Police Command has declared the Acting Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mr. Saliu Adeoti, wanted over his alleged involvement in the burning of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s office in Ido/Osi Local Government.Skip to next paragraphPhoto fileMr Saliu Adeoti, Speaker Ekiti StateA statement by the command’s Provost Marshall/Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sikiru Fatola, said that the police wanted Adeoti to come and prove his innocence over the alleged arson.Fatola, an assistant superintendent of police, said he was acting on behalf of the interim Commissioner of Police in charge of the state command, Mr. Yakubu Alkali. The statement reads, “This is to inform the general public that the Ekiti State Acting Speaker, Mr. Saliu Adeoti, is being declared wanted by the Ekiti State Police Command.“(This is) on a matter not unconnected with the burning of Ido/Osi INEC office on Saturday, April 25, which is widely reported by the dailies.”The statement further urged members of the public with information on the whereabouts of the acting speaker to make such information available to the police. In a telephone interview with our correspondent on Wednesday, Adeoti said the declaration by the police was “abnormal and unwarranted.”He said, “Declaring me wanted will imply that I have once been summoned by the police via a valid warrant. As I’m talking to you (6pm), I have not received any and nobody has told me that I’m needed at the police station.”Adeoti had, during an interview with journalists on Sunday, described the “politically-motivated” report linking him with the attack on INEC office and the allegation that he was on the run as a ruse. Before Wednesday’s statement by the police, a national newspaper had on Friday alleged that Adeoti knocked down a student in Osogbo while fleeing the state, having been then declared wanted by the police.Addressing journalists at his Otun-Ekiti residence, he said that it was part of an alleged plot by the Peoples Democratic Party to ease him out so that he would not exert his influence on the just-concluded rerun election.Although he confirmed that his old BMW car was involved in an accident in Osogbo, Osun State, on Friday, he said it was driven by his younger brother who had been driving the car since 2007.

naija's film industry is garnering global attention as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, yesterday declared Nollywood the second world film producer.A global cinema survey conducted by the world body's Institute of Statistics and released at the UN head office in New York and UNESCO office in Paris yesterday, India kept the first position, but naija has edged out the United States from the second position. The US is now number 3 after India and naija, according to an Empowered Newswire report. The survey ranks countries based on the number of films produced in a year, and not on the quality or on the turn-over of the films from those countries.Global attention on Nollywood has been mounting in recent times, especially as naija films have become hot commodity among African-Americans in the US and blacks from the Caribbean countries. Only last month, a daily US government bulletin described Nollywood as a rising star in the world of film production, paying tribute to the acumen of naija actors and film producers.Visits of famous naija actors from naija to the US is often a celebrity event with US-based naijas taking autographs from the Nollywood stars. While the Indian film industry is known as Bollywood, the American industry is known as Hollywood and naija's known as Nollywood. Both India and naija coined their industry appellations from Hollywood. The UNESCO survey which tallied 2006 figures revealed that Bollywood produced 1,091 feature-length films in 2006 compared to 872 productions (in video format) from naija's film industry. The United States produced 485 major films. The report quoted naija, US and India as the three heavyweights in global film production. The report actually spotlighted Nollywood further, noting what the UN statement called "the explosive growth of Nollywood" which is now attracting "considerable attention, especially in developing countries looking for alternatives to the U.S. or European models of film production and distribution, which require considerable investment."Said the report, "To begin with, naija filmmakers rely on video instead of film to reduce production costs," adding that naija has virtually no formal cinemas. About 99 per cent of screenings occur in informal settings, such as "home theatre."The UNESCO survey further reveals "another key element of the naija success story: multilingualism. About 56 per cent of Nollywood films are produced in naija's local languages, namely Yoruba (31per cent), Hausa (24 per cent) and Igbo (1 per cent). English remains a prominent language, accounting for 44 per cent, which may contribute to naija's success in exporting its films."The UNESCO findings were collected through a new international survey launched by the UIS in 2007 with financing from the Government of Québec. Overall, the survey yielded data from 99 countries. After the three 'heavyweights', there were eight other countries that produced more than 100 films: Japan (417), China (330), France (203), Germany (174), Spain (150), Italy (116), South Korea (110) and the United Kingdom (104)."Film and video production are shining examples of how cultural industries - as vehicles of identity, values and meanings - can open the door to dialogue and understanding between peoples, but also to economic growth and development. This conviction underpins the UNESCO Convention on Cultural Diversity," the Director-General of UNESCO, Koïchiro Matsuura, said. "And this new data on film and video production provides yet more proof of the need to rethink the place of culture on the international political agenda," he added.Despite its limited coverage, the survey provides a unique perspective on how different countries and regions are transforming traditional approaches to the art and industry of filmmaking, especially in video and digital formats. The survey also revealed considerable linguistic diversity in film production in Spain and Canada. In Spain, almost 69% of films were produced in Spanish, 12% in Catalan, about 9% in English, 4% in Basque, almost 3% in French and 4% in other languages. In Canada, 67% of films were produced in English and 31% in French in 2006.Despite these results, English remains the dominant language in filmmaking globally. In total, 36% of films produced in 2006 were shot in English, according to the survey.US films continue to dominate admissions globally. Although the survey is not exhaustive, a clear trend seems to have emerged when considering the provenance of the top 10 films viewed in diverse countriesAll of the top 10 films seen in Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Costa Rica, Namibia, Romania, and Slovenia were made in the U.S., according to the survey. There were however some notable exceptions.Bollywood productions were the obvious favourite in India. In France, seven out of the top 10 films were French. And in Japan and Morocco, domestic productions accounted for five out of the 10 most widely viewed films.

Ekiti re-run saga

Emerging from her melodramatic behavior past week, Mrs. Adebayo a.k.a Mama returned to Ado-Ekiti yesterday.Today she swung into action, repeated her macabre dance and imposed Engr. Segun Oni as governor of Ekiti state. Official results obtained by our correspondent in Ado-Ekiti (collation center) shows PDP in both wards. Our checks revealed that in Oye 1, the Action Congress (AC) had 569 votes while People Democratic Party (PDP) tally was 628 votes. In Oye 2, AC scored 261 votes, while PDP registered 611 votes. Thus sum total votes cast for AC is 830, while PDP was 1,239.However, the registered voters in the two wards in Oye Local Government Area is 18,000.The re-run election which commenced at 8am, was held under tight security, and witnessed very low voters turn out. Most polling centers visited by our team at 3.30p.m, had rounded up. However, movement was restricted as Ekiti state remained under curfew till 6pm.But,hours after the elections were concluded at the wards, the INEC office in Ado-Ekiti was besieged by party faithfuls, consequently resulting in a melee that temporarily prevented Mrs. Ayoka Adebayo from officially releasing the result.Nevertheless, when she eventually did, she threw the entire Ekiti state into a sticky situation as she returned the deposed governor Segun Oni.

Latest News Murdered businesswoman and philanthropist, Mrs Patricia Chidiac Hebeed, received several threat calls on a daily basis before she was killed in church last Sunday. Anyanwu Stanley Emeka, her nephew who had been living with her for years, told pimpmynaija.com sources yesterday at the residence of the late sole importer of Erico Air conditioner at Azare Crescent, off Liverpool Road, Apapa, Lagos, that his aunt expressed fear concerning the several threat calls she was receiving from people she did not know early last year. “She sometimes asked me to pick such calls and immediately I picked, the caller would just switch off the phone. Some of them would speak in Hausa language and because I don’t understand the language, I would only ask them to speak English, but rather they would just switch off the phone immediately,” he said. Clearing the air on the purported divorce between his aunt and her husband of 24 years, Anyanwu said there was no divorce but that the man only went back to Lebanon, his home, with their four children after a misunderstanding, adding that her aunt had been frequenting the country since they left. She was murdered inside Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Apapa, Lagos, on Sunday morning at about 10 o’clock after she was driven to the church in her YXR Bullet Proof Mercedes SUV with registration number BD 22 AKD, Lagos number, by his driver. She is survived by two boys and two girls. The first-born is 23 years old. Reverend Father Andrew Sullivan, an Irish priest, who is in charge of the church, told pimpmynaija.com sources he suspected a case of assassination. The Reverend Father said the gunmen who came on a motorcycle did not rob anyone in the church. The gunmen were also said to have left behind the deceased’s handbag as they rushed off immediately after the incident. Hebeed was said to be standing close to the Reverend Father and some worshippers waiting for the second mass to commence when a gunman walked in and shot her. “She was standing directly behind me when I was entering the church for the mass to commence. The assailant just walked up to her and fired a shot into her stomach. She slumped in a pool of her own blood without shouting or crying. The assailant immediately took to his heels in the middle of the confusion, jumped on top of a motorbike that was waiting outside and zoomed off. It was the gun shot that stopped me,” the Reverend Father said. “The deceased was rushed to Lagoon Hospital, Liverpool area in Apapa. A few minutes after she was admitted, news came that there was the likelihood that she would survive it. As the mass went one, about ten minutes later news came that she had died. It was shocking to find out that somebody was shot in the church, but it was more devastating to find out that the person who was standing directly behind you that was shot had died,” he said. Father Sullivan said the late Hebeed started worshipping in the church around January this year. Although, the Reverend Father said he did not know her personally, parishioners informed him that she started with them this year and she never held any position in the church until her assassination. He said from the look of things, it was safe to say that the assailant was inside the church before the arrival of the deceased. Sullivan said they had never witnessed such incident before beside the petty theft of mobile handsets and ladies purses since he assumed duties there over three years ago. Meanwhile, plain-clothe detectives have been posted to keep watch at the premises of churches and mosques in the Lagos metropolis. A police source told pimpmynaija.com sources that the command had detailed more policemen around churches and mosques to forestall any future occurrence. Yesterday News Gunmen stormed the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Apapa on Sunday morning, killing a notable businesswoman, Patricia Obii Chidiak during mass. The four-man gang whose motive could not be ascertained at press time arrived the Church located on Creek Road, Apapa, while the 10 o’clock mass was going, shot dead Chidiak, an Imo State-born society lady married to a Lebanese, simply identified as M Habib. The husband is believed to have traveled out of Lagos east weekend with the couple’s children. Until her life was cut short abruptly on Sunday, Patricia Chidiak was engaged in steel import and construction business with her husband, but the couple’s marriage was alleged to have become frosty lately. pimpmynaijaNews gathered that the gunmen stormed the Church premises for the dastardly act on two motorcycles. They also allegedly were armed with locally made pistols. Two of the hoodlums went inside the Church premises, while the other two waited on their get-away motorcycles. The victim who first arrived the Church for the mass, was approached by the gunmen, shot in the ribs region and her handbag was snatched. In the pandemonium that followed the shooting, the gunmen hurried out of the Church premises, jumped on the bikes and zoomed off. The deceased’s driver simply identified as Yahaya chased the gunmen using the victim’s Toyota Land Cruiser sport utility vehicle while anti-crime policemen from Apapa also pursued them in a patrol van. The not chase towards Tin Can Port ended, when tankers parked on the bridge made traffic movement impossible, aiding the escape of the hoodlums. Yahaya, the victim’s driver told pimpmynaijaNews he was sitting in the SUV outside the Church when he heard gunshots inside the church. He said while wondering what was amiss, he saw one of the gunmen emerge clutching a hand bag he immediately recognized as belonging to his boss. Yahaya said he suspected she had been shot and decided to chase the men on the bikes. Also speaking with Daily Sun, the cook who claimed to have swerved the deceased for eight years described her as a very nice woman who loved people without discrimination. It was gathered hat her husband left Nigeria last Friday on a trip believed to be to Lebanon with the couple’s children. Both the Police Assistant Inspector General (AIG) in charge of zone 2, Mohammed Abubakar and Lagos Commissioner of Police, Marvel Akpoyibo visited the scene of the murder as anti-crime detectives launched an immediate investigation. Contacted for information, Lagos Police spokesman, Frank Mba described it as a tactical case of murder. Mba said the anti-crime police patrol men who chased the gunmen could not fire at them to avoid killing innocent passersby. The deceased’s corpse has been deposited in the morgue. 1. All Three are public people (obviously) so are accountable before Men and God2.They are all Christians although Mr ibrahims parents are both Muslims3.Two of them have a lot in common Asiwe & ibrahim (ibrahim publishes asiwes online articles)4.One of them is much more succesful than the other two that have something in common5.One is a Man of God !6.Although no man is perfect Only God is perfect A close friend has had dealings with all three of these men and We came to the conclusion that Just like the otedola/dangote feud This is a case of there is more to it than meets the eye.Or the more you look the less you see !Now read about the latest "SMEAR CAMPAIGN ON PASTOR CHRIS " This is WORTH READING !I sometimes used to think there was substance in their accusations but I saw Saint Azuh's Article and I had a rethink read onAlthough Azuh is a Christ Embassy Acolyte this still makes a bit of sense .Rejoinder:Christ Embassy: Anatomy of Smear Campaign - By Saint AzuhOrdinarily, stories and personal attacks against the activities of Christ Embassy Church in South Africa, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, his family members and everybody that has anything to do with the church would have been ignored or taken as the usual journalistic prying but for the well-established concern that such reports have become episodic and now very irritating. How else would anybody describe the use of words and language in stories that concern Pastor Chris and Christ Embassy Church by just one news website- huhu news, if not to say that it makes a mockery of the very rudiments of journalism? It is very curious that within a very short span of time Huhu and its print collaborator, the National Mirror Newspapers have ran over ten stories on one person and the organization he represents. Haba!As a journalist and media analyst vast on reportage- investigative, development and even mischief, it is very surprising that a media outfit can run stories every week on one particular individual. The only import of this is that such outfit or some of its reporters/editors are on a clearly agreed smear campaign or vendetta for whatever reasons.A look at this vexed issued of the reportage of Chris Oyahkilome and Christ Embassy Church by Huhu and Mirror Newspapers would clearly establish the above allegation. On continuous basis, Huhu had ran over ten reports on one person. Some of the reports: Christ Embassy: Haleluyah or Highway to Hell; South Africans Vow to Sack Christ Embassy; Christ Embassy: Concealed Sex Scandal Exposed Part III and this means that there are parts I and II; Crisis Rocks Christ Embassy South Africa over Scandalous Dealings; South Africa: Christ Embassy’s Night of Bliss Scandal Victims Account.Others are: South Africans Vow to Sack Christ Embassy… As authorities humiliate Chris Oyakhilome at airport; Red Alert: Chris Oyakhilome‘s Christ Embassy Plc Initial Public Offer of N3bn….. Employers Beware; Christ Embassy (South Africa): Pastor offered me R10 000 to sit in a wheelchair.... stand up and walk; South African Authorities Close-In On Christ Embassy; .Six members barred from entering South Africa- .Internal feud deepens, as top pastors struggle with moral woes; and Christ Embassy South Africa: Christian & Kenneth Oyakhilome bribery scandal revealed • Tom Amekhiena unleashes assault and battery on a church member • Open challenge to Chris Oyakhilome. The question is: why this particular interest in Christ Embassy and Pastor Chris? Is Christ Embassy the only church or rather Nigerian church in South Africa ? And why is it that a Nigerian took it upon himself to fight for the coalition of South African churches and South African government against his fellow Nigerian from the same south-south region? These are very curious or rather interesting issues? It is very unfortunate because those of us that have followed Huhu had a very different believe of what Emmanuel Asiwe, the publisher represents and that may have been why some of us joined in the campaign for his immediate release when he was recently arrested by security agents in Nigeria for alleged wrong reporting, misinformation, blackmail, and felony against the government.Interestingly, any experienced reporter would agree that the entire library of stories on Christ Embassy South Africa by Huhu were just rolled out from two story lines. And for whatever reason, Huhu decided to always re-write and re-run the stories with even a spec of new rumour in Soweto main market as an update.Although this is an aside, those of us that joined the campaign for your release from detention were meant to believe that you are operating from one of the western countries. And now we are confused. Is Huhu/Emmanuel Asiwe based in South Africa or in Europe/America?Huhu should be more interested in improving the quality of both its reports and the website rather than embarking on flimsy campaign of calumny to pull down another young Nigeria in his calling. Without bias, Huhu should look at other offshore news websites including Saharareporters, Pointblanknews, Thetimesofnigeria, Gamji, Ngex amongst others and see how it can line up with their mindsets.Nigerians especially those of us at home are really proud of the offshore web-based news media outfits as they have been at the forefront of canvassing issues of national concern and challenging the nation’s leaders to accountability rather market women’s busy-body journalism.Another interesting aspect of the smear campaign against Christ Embassy Church is the now clearly established relationship between Huhu website and National Mirror Newspapers. Is Asiwe a staff or on the payroll of National Mirror Newspaper? And if not, why is it that the newspaper runs all the Huhu Christ Embassy South African stories verbatim on its cover?Even when all the national newspapers published in this country on April 26, 2009 had on their covers stories and issues on the Ekiti re-run election of Saturday April 25, Mirror, a newspaper, had as its lead story on the cover: “Christ Embassy in Crisis” , a story of an alleged event that happened in September 2007 according to the newspaper. This should concern any practicing and credible journalist as it borders heavily on the sense of judgment of what is news by the editors of Mirror. How can any editor lift a stale story wholesale from a website and slam it on the front page as lead?Initially, the smear campaign by National Mirror newspaper was interpreted as a personal vendetta by its former publisher, Emeka Obasi. Now, the ownership has changed but the smear has continued and it couldn’t have been on the instruction or support of the new owner- Jimoh Ibrahim.National Mirror should help Nigerians see it as a newspaper with credibility.. Sometime ago, offensive pornographic pictures were ran on its cover purported to be some wayward female students of the University of Port Harcourt with some expatriates. It was however later confirmed by this writer (an alumnus of Uniport) in the newsroom of the organisation that the pictures were lifted wholesale from a pornographic site on the web and re-captioned.Needless to say that this kind of journalism cannot help the Mirror and its editors especially now that the newspaper is trying to re-brand under its new owner- Jimoh Ibrahim who is “well known” in this country and beyond. A word is enough for a wise. We all know the right thing. Let’s do it.SAINT AZUH (Lords and Kings), CHRIST EMBASSY ABUJA , UTAKO SATELLITE CHURCH (saint_azuh@yahoo.com)Notable controversies now come to light1.Who really is jimoh Ibrahim and how did he make his fortune ?2.Can there be smoke without Fire in the Case of Pastor Chris ?3.Is Asiwe looking for Cheap Publicity ?9jabookers please make your commentsThanks !

How fine girl go put herself for this kind yawa because of money o !Britain's Foreign Office has said it was working to ensure lawyers have access to a pregnant Briton who faces death by firing squad in Laos. The Nigerian-born Samantha Orobator, 20, faces execution if she is found guilty at a 'hastily arranged' trial in Laos next week. She was arrested at Wattay Airport in Laos in August last year, allegedly in possession of 600g heroin after a holiday in Thailand and the Netherlands. Foreign Office Minister, Bill Rammell said: "We are also providing consular assistance to Samantha, in particular to help ensure that she has good legal representation. We are paying close attention to her welfare and are in regular contact with the Laotian authorities about her case."Rammell said British embassy officials have visited her six times since her arrest and Australian embassy officials have also visited her 10 times. There is no British embassy in Laos and the nearest is in Thailand. Mr Rammell said he will be raising the case with the Laotian Deputy Prime Minister when they meet in the UK on Thursday. But Reprieve director, Clive Stafford Smith, said "that's not much good. The trial will be over by then." He said her trial had been brought forward by a year in an apparent attempt to stop her seeing a lawyer. The decision to move the trial was announced after arrangements were made for Orobator to see a lawyer on Tuesday."It's pretty shocking that they would do that apparently to avoid her seeing a British lawyer before she has to go to trial," Smith saidHe called for the Government to immediately do everything in its power to have the trial put back. And he questioned how Orobator, who is due to give birth in September, could have become pregnant while in jail. She has been held since her arrest at the notorious Phonthong prison, where inmates have complained of being beaten and abused.Ronke Oseni, 21, a psychology student at Kingston University, said she only found out about her friend's situation on Wednesday. She said, "there is no one there to visit her, nobody to talk to, and she doesn't speak the language. I am really scared for her. I can't even imagine what she's going through. The punishment does not fit the crime. They want to shoot her but what about the baby?"She said her friend had planned to become a medical doctor and was a good student who was not involved in drugs. Miss Orobator, who was born in Nigeria but has lived in London since she was eight years old and is a British citizen, became pregnant in the prison in December.
