Former Nigerian dictator Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida is adopting more desperate measures in the face of signs that his campaign for the Nigerian presidency has no steam.

Babangida’s latest misfortunes came from a video he uploaded to youtube. The video was an invitation to people to visit Babangida’s campaign website. But soon after the video was posted on youtube, anti-Babangida groups began mobilizing their members and the Nigerian public to leave critical comments on the youtube video page.

A source inside Babangida’s dispirited campaign told Saharareporters that several of Babangida’s staffers spent the last two days deleting negative postings and writing positive comments on the video. But by yesterday, when it became clear that they could not cope with the deluge of negative comments, the Babangida campaign office received instructions to lock down the commentary section on youtube.

The desperate step is the latest in a series of woes befalling the presidential dreams of the former dictator whose regime murdered foremost Nigerian journalist Dele Giwa in October 1986.

Since announcing his widely unpopular intention to run in the forthcoming presidential election, Babangida has blundered from one gaffe to another, earning derision and condemnation from Nigerians. The former dictator’s grave missteps include a statement that young Nigerians do not have what it takes to lead the country and a recent statement that he would not answer questions about the assassination of Giwa as well as his annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential polls won by the late businessman Moshood Abiola. “General Babangida’s statements have been generally incoherent and even destructive to his ambition,” said one of the former dictator’s former associates who is not backing him for the presidency.

Babangida’s campaign has neither got any traction nor made any progress even as he is using part of the funds he looted from the public treasury to revive the campaigns. He was forced to abandon his much-publicized campaign stop in Ibadan, capital of Oyo State, after youths warned that they would not let him appear in the ancient city.

“Lots of people are taking IBB’s mon no one is really buying his snake oil,” said a civil rights activist in Abuja.

Babangida is widely hated by Nigerians, including many who were not even born when he was chased out of power in 1993 following his annulment of the June 12 1993 general elections.

In addition to his political crimes, Babangida stands accused of stealing over $12 billion from the Gulf War oil windfall of 1991. The letter bomb murder of Dele Giwa ranks as one of his most notorious crimes.

Military intelligence sources also accuse him of killing many military officers opposed to his rule either by implicating them in phony coup plots or, in a highly dramatic instance, by ordering the sabotage of a military jet carrying many officers.

His economic policy, known as the Structural Adjustment Program (SAP), was largely responsible for destroying the Nigerian economy in the 1980s and decimating the country’s middle class.

“Babangida has managed to evade trial for his many crimes against the Nigerian people by using his illegitimately acquired wealth to buy his cronies, like former President Obasanjo, into office,” said a former military intelligence operative. “These cronies in turn offer him state protection.”

As his campaign flounders, Babangida yesterday resorted to his usual divide-and-conquer form of politics. He stated that he only wants to stay in office for one term after which he would turn over power to an Igbo successor.

But a major Igbo politician told Saharareporters that Babangida’s cheap ploy would win him few votes in the southeast. “The Igbos have borne the brunt of institutional marginalization promoted by Babangida and his colleagues in the army,” said the politician, adding that the former dictator unceremoniously removed Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe, an officer of Igbo extraction, from his post number 2 in IBB’s regime. “Ukiwe was disgraced and humiliated despite the fact that he was one of the most upright and admirable officers in the Nigerian military,” said the politician.

"Alleged killer admits having sex with body"

A WASHINGTON man accused of killing a woman who was found in his pickup truck admitted to having sex with her corpse.

KIRO news reports deputies arrested Bernard Howell on Sunday in connection with the woman’s slaying after they pulled him over and discovered the victim's body in his vehicle, according to the report.

The 26-year-old suspect said in court yesterday that he found the body, had sex with it and was planning to dump the corpse, the article stated.

It also stated that Mr Howell had allegedly asked a stranger to help him dispose of the body and that the unidentified man called authorities, who tracked down and stopped Mr Howell's truck.

They said they found the deceased, who was in her late 50s, inside a sleeping bag in the back seat of the pickup.

"He basically said he was trying to save the woman's family from paying for a funeral, yet we can't find the evidence he knew who this woman was," Thurston County Sheriff's Department representative Jim Chamberlain said.

Igbos and the politics of zoning

ALTHOUGH my effort here is the place of Igbos in the political scheme of things in the face of the raging debate on “the principle of power rotation or zoning” in Nigeria; I have commenced this treatise deliberately with the above title fully convinced that by origin of the Igbo, we are not just found in Nigeria only; there are Igbos in the Diaspora and we have accepted ourselves as descendants of children of Abraham, the Jewish patriarch.

So we are part of the African Jews whose ancestry is traced to Israel and relatives are found in Ethiopia. The Jews and their descendants have suffered several persecutions in different parts of the world. The story of concentration camps in Hitler’s Germany is a common feature in history books for those who are not familiar with the story of the persecution and killing of six million Jews.

The story and persecution of the Igbo in Nigeria is also well-known in the country. Wherever they are found, the Igbo and Jews have been major creators of and contributors to human progress. The Jews are a major force in the United States on the basis of their creativity and resourcefulness; so are the Igbo in Nigeria, nation-builders despite institutionalised marginalisation by state authorities.

The civil war between the Nigerian State and the Igbos in Nigeria that lasted from 1967 to 1970 is a story of self-defense in the face of genocidal attacks. Since after the civil war, this race mainly found in the South Eastern part of Nigeria have been in the struggle for self- rediscovery and reassertion in the mainstream of the Nigeria’s national life. This has been very challenging!

The Igbo have faced their greatest obstacle in the process of taking their rightful place in the post-civil war Nigeria in the political front. There have been planned and sustained effort to keep them out of the control of state power. The Nigerian state has operated for over 40 years on the basis of Igbo-phobia, particularly in the era of military juntas who coincidentally fought the war.

Despite this situation of affairs; the Igbos have carried on with their lives with a kind of determination that is uncommon among mere mortals. They have also worked for civil rule and democracy which from every indication offers them more in terms of a voice and a stake in the national scheme of things.

They have always brought their best to participate in all the civil debates in terms of constitutional conferences, political reform conferences that are geared towards creating a more equitable and just society, where no man will be discriminated against on the bases of tribe, ethnicity or religion.

This was the background and condition under which the Constitutional Reform Conference was held in 1995 where the issue of power rotation among the various sections of the country was conceived. It was at the conference that the former Vice-President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, an Igbo, in a sheer display of political wizardry and ingenuity developed a political master-plan for the sustenance of the unity and stability of the country.

He divided the country into six geo-political zones for the purposes of distributing or sharing national positions, including the rotation of presidential powers.

This idea was vehemently opposed by the North but however, reluctantly accepted and included in the constitution that was to be promulgated by then Head of State, General Abacha. The sudden death of Abacha changed a lot of this plan as that constitution was extensively altered by Abdulsalmi Abubakar who inherited the throne after Abacha’s death. One of the casualties of the alteration was the zoning principle. It became purely a political party affair which have successfully run for 10 years now by the ruling PDP. By that simple calculation of power sharing between North and South, the Igbos would be producing the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by 2015.

However, the death of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua has also thrown up another challenge that is trying to rubbish the little success Nigeria has achieved in political re-engineering. The Goodluck Jonathan presidency constitutes a major hindrance in the efforts of the Igbo people to assume leadership of the country by 2015.

Another set of quadruplets has been born at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi Araba, Lagos. It is the second time in seven days that quadruplets will be safely delivered at the tertiary health institution, reputed to have the most functional neonatal unit in the country.

The babies, two boys and two girls, were delivered through Ceasarean Section yesterday morning at about 10.30 by the same medical team that took delivery of the first set of quadruplets last week. A statement issued by the LUTH Public Relations Unit confirmed that the babies were born premature at the gestational age of 27 weeks and weighed between 0.75kg and 0.95kg.

The statement signed by the PRO, Mrs Hope Nwawolo, disclosed that the babies are doing fine in the well-equipped neonatal unit of the hospital. She observed that their mother, 33-year-old Mrs. Bunmi Oladele, a housewife, is recuperating after the two-hour surgery.

Vanguard also gathered that the mother of the quadruplets was initially referred to the Lagos Island Maternity Hospital from the General Hospital, Ile-Epo,in Agege where she had been diagnosed tro be carrying a multiple birth pregnancy. She was later transferred to LUTH from the Island Maternity on Tuesday night because the latter admitted it was not adequately equipped to cater for the babies after they would have been born..

Oladele who was subsequently referred and placed on observation and prepared for delivery through Ceasarean Section almost immediately on arrival at LUTH. Expressing joy, she gave thanks to God for sparing her life throughout the pregnacy and during the ordeal of delivery through surgery.”I’m filled with joy and gratitude to God Almighty. I give Him all the glory,” she noted.

However, father of the quadruplets, Mr Kola Oladele, an artisan, said he was shocked when he first received the news that his wife was expecting quadruplets.”I did not expect it, I did not even expect twins, not to talk of four babies, but I take it as God’s doing.

The problem now is the huge responsibility. I have already spend more than N50,000 today alone. How do I take care of the babies because we had two children initially but lost one last August. I did not plan to have more than two children initially. I need help to cater for them

The group warned that failure to include the unemployed may lead to theboycott by members from the registration and electoral processes.

INEC, according to the group, should know that the unemployed constitute over 62 per cent of the youths in the country and theumbrella body, NCU is registered with the Ministry of Labour andProductivity and an arm of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC.

FISHBORNES BABY GIRL GOING ON THE DOWN LOW "ACTS PORN" LAWRENCE FISHBORNES BABY GIRL GOING ON THE DOWN LOW ACTS PORN

The daughter of Hollywood star Laurence Fishburne has moved out of his spacious home as she tries to make a name for herself as a porn star - and insists she doesn't want to hurt to her dad.
Montana Fishburne, 19, is said to have infuriated her famous father when
she broke the news of her unconventional career path, and has since
packed her bags and left the LA home she was sharing with 49-year-old
Laurence, his second wife Gina Torres and her half-sister, baby Delilah.
It’s understood the teenager has put pen to paper on a deal with Vivid
Entertainment, who will release the steamy film – titled Montana
Fishburne:

An A-List Daughter Makes her XXX Debut – later this month. “I wanted to do my own thing,” she tells TMZ. “I didn’t feel living in my father’s house with his new baby was the best thing.” Montana, whose
porn name is Chippy D, will star alongside the aptly named Brian Pumper
in the film – a seasoned porn star who also directs as well as
performs. And despite facing her father’s wrath, Montana is determined
to make a name for herself in the controversial industry. “I can’t help
that he’s my dad,” she told the New York Post. “I can’t help that I’m
his daughter. I’m just trying to start my own career.

This is my goal. When I have my mind set on something, I’m gonna do it. “(Our) relationship has nothing to do with why I got into porn. I got into porn
because I wanted to f**k on camera. I knew it was going to affect him.
But I’m not doing this to slander his name. There was no ‘I want to hurt
my dad.’ That’s bull.

That’s selfish to do that. I’m not going to try to hurt my dad that publicly. That’s ridiculous. I love my dad to death. "This is not about him. It’s about me.” And its really about her
because as it is.. she is sold out....

Montana Fishburne's porn film has disappeared from shelves across the country. Porn purveyors, Vivid Entertainment, who produced the DVD, have now offered her a multi-film
deal that could keep her productively engaged employed for many more
days. Vivid head honcho Steve Hirsch tells TMZ that the initial lot of
25,000 copies of the DVD have sold out and backorders are now piling up.
According to TMZ, friends of Montana's father, Laurence Fishburne, had
pooled in $1 million and offered to purchase the DVD rights from Vivid,
but by then copies had already shipped. In a recent interview with E!
Online, Montana said that she is still open to an alternative career
choice. We are wondering if the new multiple film offer from Vivid will
make her forget the alternative career option.

Has "Music" done our Kids IN ?

behin2.jpgbehind_the_music-87303480-1281525544_thumb.jpg?ymosBmDDmGNOAd3W

Is pop corrupting kids?

Over the last 20 years, pop has grown up. The genre has sealed its place amongst the most lucrative fields in global entertainment, dominating media headlines and captivating the imaginations of countless teenagers. But in doing so, has it gone overboard, compromising innocent thrills in a haze of raunch and sensationalism?

That's the claim of one of the 80s' most significant producers, Mike Stock, one third of Stock Aitken Waterman, who helped launch the likes of
Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan and Rick Astley, masterminding numerous chart hits during the trio's golden era. But he is not impressed with where pop is at in 2011.

Stock blames the genre's current stars for "sexualising" youngsters everywhere. "The music industry has gone too far. It's not about me being old-fashioned. It's about keeping values that are important in the modern world. These days you can't watch modern stars - like
Britney Spears or Lady Gaga - with a two-year-old.

"Kids are being forced to grow up too young. Look at the videos. I wouldn't necessarily want my young kids to watch them. I would certainly be embarrassed to sit there with my mum," he explained. But does Stock have a point? Certainly, this year has seen a procession of semi-naked, sexed-up singles and videos from the likes of
Beyonce, Gaga, Katy Perry and Kylie.

But many of these have a more mature audience, particularly in the example of Kylie, who have grown up with the star. Better examples can be seen in the work of Britney, who launched her pop career as a Catholic schoolgirl on heat in the ‘...Baby One More Time' promo and has gone on to base her entire career on 24/7 sleaze, both in pop and her real life.

More recently,
Miley Cyrus has been transformed from the wholesome, all-American good girl star of ‘Hannah Montana' into the man-eating, leather-clad Lolita bad girl of recent single ‘Can't Be Tamed'. All this in just two years. It's a dramatic change. But is it the same one we expect or want from our own children? Or is the pop world simply setting a terrible example to its biggest fans?

Is Mike Stock right? Are the music stars of today guilty of "sexualising" the world's youth? Or is it just harmless pop fun? Have your say below...

The Federal Government yesterday approved a whopping $3.5 billion equivalent of N525 billion for the construction of a new 700 KV SuperGrid aimed at shoring up power generation capacity to 7000 mega watts by April 2011.

The approval which was endorsed by President Goodluck Jonathan, after a meeting with the Presidential Action Committe on Power (PACP), at the Presidential Villa, Abuja is completed in four years.

Ima Niboro, special adviser on media and publicity said in a statement that “$3.5 billion power project is expected to fulfill Nigeria’s need to transmit increasing amounts of power across vast distances which the existing 330/132KV grid cannot meet”...

Niboro stated that “in granting approval for the SuperGrid President Jonathan directed that it should be funded as a federal asset with additional financing from private investors and international finance and development agencies”.

“The SuperGrid which will run along the same route as the existing 330/132KV grid will also address Nigeria’s future energy challenges including transition to more sustainable energy sources, reduction of power loss per transmitted megawatt and improving power voltage profiles across the country,” he stated further.

The presidential spokesman said “the huge advantage of the 700 KV supergrid over the existing 330/132 KV grid is that it will significantly reduce the huge amount of power currently lost in transmission”.

He said that “without the supergrid, the quantum of power lost in transmission will continue to increase as more power progressively becomes available for evacuation from new and rehabilitated generating stations. Periodic systemic failures will also become more frequent”.

Niboro said “Nigeria’s available generation capacity will rise to 6939 MW by April next year and 14019 MW by December 2013.In another development, President Jonathan will on Thursday, August 26, 2010 present a new roadmap for the reformation of Nigeria’s power sector to the country’s private sector”.

He said President Jonathan will on Thursday, August 26, 2010 present a new roadmap for the reformation of Nigeria’s power sector to the country’s private sector

According to him “President Jonathan will seize the opportunity of the event in Lagos to acquaint members of the private sector with fresh investment opportunities inherent in the power sector reform programme and invite greater private sector support for the programme”.

Enugu herbalist takes 48th wife

An Enugu based herbalist and self-styled King Solomon of Africa, Dr OnuUwa Simon Odo, made history recently when he performed the traditional wedding rites to a 24-year-old girl to bring the total of his wives to 48.
The 64-year-old herbalist, who married his first wife at the age of 15 , by the recent marriage, now ranks among the world’s most polygamous men.

OnuUwa wedded Ndidi, a secondary school leaver at a flamboyant traditional marriage ceremony unprecedented in the annals of Ajii, a hinterland community in the Igbo Eze North Local Government Area, Enugu State.
The herbalist who said he specialized in healing the sick, especially those whose ailment had defied orthodox therapy; preparation of good luck and success charms, claimed to have received his power from Eze-Nwayi at an early age.

Although he told Daily Sun that his latest wife, Ndidi would be his last, a family source said it is doubtful if he could resist the urge to marry more wives, insisting that “he will marry again.”
OnuUwa, who said he was a baptized and confirmed Catholic, as well as a Mass server, denied any involvement in ritual sacrifices or shedding of human blood..
“I will go to heaven because I am a good man,” he boasted, adding that if he were bad, the gods would have punished him through his children or wives, pointing out that he has never recorded death of a child or wife.

It is just very wonderful how peaceful the family is, given its large population. Explaining the secrete behind the unprecedented harmony in his family, he attributed it to the strict adherence of members of his household to the written rules guiding his family, which he calls the “four commandments” that forbids them to steal, be jealous, fight or kill.

There is no barren woman in his household, but he refused to disclose the number of children he has.
“How can I tell you the number of children I have. You don’t count children, because they are gifts from God. Before you leave, one of my wives may give birth, would you not call me a liar?” the herbalist queried jokingly.
“My ambition to establish a village with my family has been realized. We are now more than a village,” he told Daily Sun. Hear him:

I once served mass
I started my herbal business in 1962 when I was 15 years. I was attending the Catholic Church. I was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church and I even served the mass. Because I was poisoned by my enemies I had to leave. I was born in 1947, the year locusts appeared in the sky.
My kind of herbal practice
Since I started the herbal practice in1962, I have been kind to my patients and I used my gift to help very many persons. If you give me $100 million to kill a human being, I will not take, I no dey “share” blood. I am a man and I cannot “share” blood because, God created the people.

I want to emulate King Solomon
No, it is not 47 wives, but 48. Yes, I married a very young secondary school leaver and did the traditional marriage recently. Her name is Ndidi and I love her too much I decided to marry the 48th wife because, it is what I desire to do. To marry many wives is ordained by God. For me, I want to marry like King Solomon in the Bible. God is helping me. I am healthy. I have the money and can marry as many wives as I like, since I am sexually active. Even in the next 30 years, I will still be sexually active. I am a herbalist and I know the power of plants and roots in our body.

Ndidi will be my last wife
Ndidi will be the last woman I will marry. I will not marry anybody again. I don’t want to marry any more. I am okay. I am getting older even though I am healthy; I am okay with 48 wives. I will not marry again; I don’t want to reach 50 wives. You want me to marry two more to make it 50, no!

How many wives have you, yourself?
The number of my children
They are plenty; I don’t know how many they are. You don’t count children, they are gifts from God. I don’t count them. It’s abomination to do so. What I know is that some of my wives have 10 children, some five, some four, some two. We have not recorded any death here either of a wife or child. The last wife is yet to get her own children. One of my daughters is a councilor, serving for the fourth tenure. My first son Emeka has married and he has six children and his first daughter is already married. I have 35 grand children. Many of my daughters are married. One of my wives just came back from the North where she went to see her daughter who gave birth recently. Some of my children are in the universities.
The work I do
The work I do is not by inheritance. It is a special gift from Eze Nwayi. She can choose anybody from the family irrespective of age. It is my destiny; nobody can learn it unless you are chosen because it is very, very hard.

When I will die
Yes I know, and it is God who will say it. When he says, I will know. How can you ask me that question? Do you want me to challenge God? No, I will not.
Me being a politician

I am the father of all the political parties, PDP is my own; PRP is my own; NCNC is my own, all of the parties are my own. Anyone of the politicians who want to contest, if he comes to me, I help the person. I like politics; I love it so much because it is the easiest way to make money in Nigeria today. I did not go to school otherwise I would have become a politician.

Yes, I helped many of them to become governors and commissioners, but I will not tell you their names. Why do you want to know their names? They come from Hausa, Igbo, Igala, Yoruba and other parts of Nigeria. Some are now in the National Assembly; when, you help them and they go up, they will not remember you again. They are wicked.

Achieving my dream of having a village as family
Yes, it has been achieved, God has made it possible, if you come to my house now, you can get more than 300 people, are they not up to a village?
My best wife
Thank you very much. My lovely wife and the one I love most is Ndidi, the last one. I love her most because she is yet to get her own children. When she gets issue up to two or four I will begin to love all of them equally.

Any Will?
I will not share my property now. I made no Will. If I do it now it will bring misunderstanding. God gave me obedient and good wives. Nobody is envious of her neighbour. Even if I die today, they know how to share my property peacefully because they know I am not a wicked man, I am not a bad person; God will never give me or my children power to do bad things. I am sure of that one.

Feeding my wives and children
Some of my sons have money. They are rich. My first son has his own house and is married with six children. The senior rich children are catering for their families. I only see to the upkeep of the junior ones. None of my children is useless. All of them are very responsible. That is why I have no problem.

My strength sexually at 64 and with 48 wives
Yes, I am strong 24 hours. Even in the next 30 years, I am on; in the next 30 good years I have the strength to meet my wives. Do you know the reason? I have no envy in me. I have no time to fight with anyone or struggle for something. Money is not my problem. I have never made case with anybody. I live a peaceful life. All these things make me to grow younger. I am always happy in my compound. Everybody knows what to do and what is forbidden. So, there is no quarrelling or scolding. My wives are happy. If there is no peace in my house it can weaken me both physically and spiritually. I feed very well. If a wife who should feed me for the day fails, another one will take over.

Any regrets in life?
Nothing whatsoever; absolutely nothing. I say nothing at all. I am fulfilled. God is so kind to me. I thank my God for everything. I don’t habour any ill feelings. Even all my wives know this. I don’t tolerate nonsense. If any of my wives misbehaves, I sack her . But thank God none of them has given cause for me to act in that way.
I married all my wives in the traditionally

I did not marry any of my wives in the Christian tradition. I married all of them in the pagan way. True, I was a Catholic and was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church and was a Mass server. I had to leave the church when I was poisoned by my enemy.

Advice to my children
I don’t want any of them to tell lies, I don’t want any of them to steal, I don’t want any of them to be jealous, I don’t want any of them to kill or do any evil. I told my children that any of them that disobeys the advice, I will disown him.

Ndidi: why I married my husband
My wedding the herbalist is the best thing that has happened to me in life. I am grateful to God for doing me the favour. He is my choice, nobody or circumstance forced me. I love him because he has a good reputation in our area and beyond. I relate well with other wives. As human beings, if we have any misunderstanding, we settle it immediately before our husband finds out because if he finds out, we will be in trouble.

GUANTANAMO BAY U.S. NAVAL BASE, Cuba (Reuters) - A U.S. military tribunal on Wednesday sentenced Osama bin Laden's former cook to 14 years in prison, but he is expected to serve far less under a plea deal that remains secret.

The defendant, Sudanese captive Ibrahim al Qosi, pleaded guilty last month in the war crimes court at the Guantanamo Bay U.S. naval base to charges of conspiring with al Qaeda and providing material support for terrorism.

Qosi, a 50-year-old with a white beard, has been held at Guantanamo for more than eight years.

Military officials said it could be several months before his full plea agreement is made public. But the al-Arabiya television network based in Dubai quoted unidentified sources as saying it caps his sentence at two years.

Qosi acknowledged that he knew al Qaeda was a terrorist group when he ran one of the kitchens in bin Laden's Star of Jihad compound in Afghanistan.

Qosi, who met bin Laden in Sudan and travelled with him to Afghanistan, also admitted helping the al Qaeda leader escape U.S. forces in the Tora Bora mountains of Afghanistan.

He said he had no involvement in or prior knowledge of terrorist attacks.

Qosi was the first Guantanamo captive convicted under the administration of President Barack Obama, whose efforts to shut down the detention camp have been blocked by Congress.

His sentencing hit a snag because, according to the judge, the U.S. military ignored orders to develop a plan specifying how prisoners would serve their sentences after conviction in the Guantanamo tribunals.

COMMUNAL CONFINEMENT
Qosi wanted to avoid serving his in solitary confinement. His plea deal required the convening authority overseeing the trial to recommend that Qosi serve his time in Camp Four, where detainees live communally under fewer restrictions than in the other camps.

But military rules forbid housing convicted criminals with other detainees.

The judge, Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Nancy Paul, said an assistant defence secretary ordered two years ago that the Army and the military's Southern Command, which oversees the Guantanamo base, develop a detailed plan for housing prisoners after their conviction.

"This has not been done," the judge said tersely.

She said the absence of any written policy or plan was "especially troubling" because another trial was under way for a young Canadian captive and could produce another conviction.

She ruled that Qosi's plea agreement was still valid because it only called for a recommendation that he be housed in the communal camp, and did not guarantee he would be.

The judge directed that Qosi remain in Camp Four for 60 days while the military works out where he would serve the rest of his sentence.

Qosi is the fourth captive convicted in the tribunals created to try non-U.S. terrorism suspects after the al Qaeda attacks of September 11, 2001. Two served short sentences and were sent home to Australia and Yemen.

The only other convict remaining at Guantanamo is Ali Hamza al Bahlul, a Yemeni who was an al Qaeda videographer. He is serving a life sentence for conspiring with al Qaeda and providing material support for terrorism.

"He is separated from the general population," said a Guantanamo spokesman, Navy Commander Brad Fagan. He declined to elaborate except to say, "He's by himself."

Once Qosi returns to Sudan, he will enter a program that is run by the Sudanese intelligence service and is designed to rehabilitate those with radical views, defence lawyers said. Nine other Sudanese captives have gone through the program upon repatriation from Guantanamo, they said.

After completing the program, Qosi will then return to live with his family but will be monitored to ensure he has no contact with radicals, they said.

Where can you reunite with high school buddies, cousins and former
coworkers at once? Facebook, of course. This virtual world provides fellowship, socializing, job networking, and can just help keep pals in touch. But,

just like high school has snobs, Facebook has snobs among the crowd too. Here are a few signs of a Facebook snob.

Facebook Snob Characteristic #1: Ignores friend requests from people they know or are related to.

This doesn't apply to ignoring the friend request of a psycho ex-boyfriend or someone you've never met. But, if you ignore the friend request of your great-aunt, friend at church or someone else you really know, you might be considered a Facebook snob. It really depends on the circumstances. If someone you know hasn't done something to harm you, and you just don't want to connect with them, you might be the qualifications of a Facebook snob.

Facebook Snob Characteristic #2: Accepts a friend request, then acts like they never existed.

Whenever I get a new friend request, I always try to make some effort to reconnect with the person. It could be as simple as commenting on their recent Facebook status, or "liking" their kids photos. Or, it could be a private message asking how they are doing. But, I would never accept a friend request and then never, ever comment on a Facebook status or picture.

It also definitely meets the qualifications of a Facebook snob if someone sends you a private message and you completely ignore the message altogether. ..

Facebook Snob Characteristic #3:Invites other Facebook friends to events, but ignores mutual, real-life friends.

If you're going to host a party, it's understandable if you can't invite everyone. However, it's best not to do it through Facebook. It's simply rude to let everyone else that you've invited some people to your party, but don't want other people to attend. Everyone else might be able to see about the event, read comments on their walls, etc. Try to be courtesy and invite people the old-fashioned way.

Would you "hide" someone in real life? Hiding friends might be considered a little snobby. It really depends on the circumstances. Read "Is it Rude to Hide Someone on Facebook? for more insight on this

issue. It's understandable to hide people to you don't really know well, or at all, but if you're hiding your brother, that might mean you are a Facebook snob.

Facebook Snob Characteristic #4

Ignoring people who make comments about your posts but You never make comments about their posts .In real Life this is like someone commenting on you and you refusing to respond even though it is not a negative statement.

Facebook Snob Characteristic No 5 Requesting a friend and then After they ACCEPT You totally ignore or EVEN Block Them ! Now this is more or less The one we did in High School ! this tops the bunch ! you rub the snobbery in ! ##

Now do you think you Are you a Facebook SnUb ???

Thousands of online banking customers have accounts emptied by 'most dangerous trojan virus ever created'

* Trojan is still at large and may strike again, experts warn
* Bank affected has still not been named

Cyber criminals have raided the accounts of thousands of British internet bank customers in one of the most sophisticated attacks of its kind.

The fraudsters used a malicious computer programme that hides on home computers to steal confidential passwords and account details from at least 3,000 people..

The internet security experts M86, who uncovered the scam, estimate that at least £675,000 has been illegally transferred from the UK in the last month - and that the attacks are still continuing.

Out of action: The new trojan virus can empty bank accounts without their owners knowing about the theft

Out of action: The new trojan virus can empty bank accounts without their owners knowing about the theft as it showsthem fake statements

All the victims were customers with the same unnamed online bank, the company said.

Last night online banking customers were urged to make sure their anti-virus software was up to date - and to check for any missing sumsfrom their accounts.

The attack has been traced to a 'control and command' centre in Eastern Europe. However, the nationality of the cybercriminals isunknown.

TROJAN PROTECTION TIPS

  • Make sure your anti-virus software is up to date.
  • Keep firewalls set to the highest level.
  • Never open an e-mail attachment from someone you don't know.
  • Never double-click on an e-mail attachment that ends in .exe. It is an'executable' file and can do what it likes in your system.
  • If you think your machine has already been infected, contact your bankimmediately. If the bank thinks you are a genuine victim of fraud itwill reimburse you.

The attacks were carried out when hundreds of thousands of home computers were infected with a type of harmful computer code called aTrojan.

Trojans hide in websites, emails or downloads. Once installed on a computer they can record every type of the keyboard, steal confidentialinformation or even open up a PC's security so that it can becontrolled remotely from another country.

The latest attack involved a Trojan called Zeus v3 which hides inside adverts on legitimate websites.

Once installed on a home computer, the programme waits until the user visits their online bank and then secretly records their accountdetails and passwords - using the information to transfer between £1,000and £5,000 to other bank accounts.

The attacks began on July 5 and are still progressing, according to Ed Rowley, product manager at M86.

'In the vast majority of cases, if people had kept their computer's operating systems and software such as Internet Explorer up to date theywould not have been attacked,' he said.

'More often than not Trojans exploit known vulnerabilities that can be simply patched and fixed by downloading updates.'

McAfee, the security software maker, said production of software code known as malware, which can harm computers and steal user passwords, reached a new high in the first six months of 2010.

It said total malware production continued to soar and 10 million new pieces of malicious code were catalogued.

It also warned users of Apple's Mac computers, considered relatively safe from virus attacks, that they may also be subjected to malwareattacks in the future.

'For a variety of reasons, malware has rarely been a problem for Mac users. But those days might end soon,' a spokesman said.

THE RISING THREAT OF TROJAN ATTACKS

Attacks by ‘Trojan viruses’ are on the rise in Britain.

Although up-to-date anti-virus software should prevent an attack, experts say analarming number of people leave their computers vulnerable tocybertheft.

Trojans are malicious programmes that hide inside apparently harmless computer files.

They can lurk on websites, online adverts or hitch a lift in emails.

The Zeus v3 Trojan involved in the latest attacks hides in adverts that appear on legitimate websites.

Each time someone clicks on the advert, the code is downloaded to their home computer where it lies dormant.

The code only becomes active when the computer connects to a bank websitewhen it starts to record account details, passwords and otherconfidential information.

It checks to see if the account holds enough cash and then transfers up to£5,000 to a ‘mule’ account - a legitimate bank account held by a realcustomer.

Owners of these mule accounts operate on the edge of the law and agree totransfer sums they receive to someone else, after taking a cut.

By the time the police have investigated a Trojan attack, the recipient of the money has usually vanished without trace.

Security experts say it is relatively easy to protect against Trojan attacks byinstalling anti-virus software and keeping it up to date.

Computer owners should also make sure they have downloaded any updates of theiroperating software - usually Windows - and other programmes such asInternet Explorer, Firefox and Adobe.

People should also be alert to junk emails that pretend to be from banks, theInland Revenue or online shops like Amazon and Ebay.

The emails invite the unwary to click on a link to a webpage containing a Trojan.

'Our latest threat report depicts that malware has been on a steady incline in the first half of 2010,' Mike Gallagher, chief technologyofficer of Global Threat Intelligence for McAfee, said in the reportthat was obtained by Reuters.

The internet security company has passed on details of the attacks to the UK Police Central E-Crime Unit in London.

Britain's high street banks declined to comment on the attacks, but urged customers to protect themselves from virus attacks.

A spokesman for HSBC said: 'There are millions of viruses and other malicious software.

'We urge people to take basic measure to protect themselves from virus attacks.

'Any customer who is a victim of fraud will be reimbursed by HSBC.'

Last year £59.7 million was stolen in online banking fraud, while another £440 million was lost to credit card fraud.

A Financial Fraud Action UK spokeswoman said: ‘The idea that criminals are targeting people by using malicious software or Trojans isnothing new.

‘Bank systems are hard to attack so they’re having to go through the easier link in the chain, which is the customers.

‘They’re hoping customers aren’t taking security precautions. We’ve been seeing this for the last few years and we’re constantly urgingpeople to protect their computers to try to mitigate the risk ofbecoming a victim.”

Online banking customers can take measures to protect themselves by keeping their anti-virus software up to date and keeping their firewallsset to the highest level, she added.

Victims of online banking fraud usually get their money back.

Earlier this month, an internet security company Trusteer, warned that 100,000 British computers were infected with an earlier version ofZeus.
