1) THE STOLEN YEARS
A story about the ripple effects in a family torn apart by their parent’s greed.
Adenizen is the perfect school in every sense except for one thing. On the outskirts of its campus, there is a student villa where the female residents are fair game for any man who can pay the price. Madam Ofilia runs the villa and will go to any length to take the most promising girls under her wings, as long as they live up to their side of the bargain.
But when the ladies of A16 at Noble Hall become her next target, events take an unexpected turn. With each of these girls running her own agenda, it seems Madam Ofilia has bitten off more than she can chew. Things go awry and she is brought face to face with a buried past that might eventually cause her to meet her waterloo.
2) BLOOMS AMONG THORNS
Like most ladies in the prime of their lives, Imade is determined to make a success of herself. She arms herself with everything that is necessary for this quest including a prestigious degree, a promising banking career and Dapo, her perfect man.
But she never anticipated that setbacks could occur along the way and is distraught when her perfect man walks out of her life and leaves her expecting his child. Then, just when she is learning to get along fine as a single mother, Dapo resurfaces; and it's not because he has missed her. Before long, Imade finds herself embroiled in one battle after the other as the ideal future she has mapped out, begins to fall apart. But though her dream of a perfect life is shattered, her faith in the perfect God is not. It is in her most dismal hours, that she discovers that God is able to turn her frustrations into triumphs if only she would yield to His transforming grace.
3. FIT FOR A CROWN
Three African women from three different eras are bonded together by a thin, fragile thread.
- Iyogie is the soft spoken matriarch of the Idusefe family. A lone figurehead in a community of ancient traditions, she practices her faith quietly. But like a lamp which burns in a dark room, her inner strength cannot be hidden and she offers hope to those close to her.
- Ifueko: Living in the era of colonial transition, her destiny seems to have been decided by the men who rule the world in which she lives. But when these same men are subdued during the foreign invasion, Ifueko must take her destiny in her hands by deciding whether to go the way she has always known or to follow the road less travelled.
- Stella is a modern day beauty queen, living life in the fast lane. When her life begins to spin out of control, she realizes that she may need to apply the brakes before she crashes. In a bid to reverse some of her hasty decisions, she takes a trip into the past to discover what exactly has been holding her back and what she must let go, if she is to lay hold of the true essence of life.
These women swim against the tides of their time, each one drawing inspiration from her forerunner as a legacy of true royalty is passed down from one generation to the next.

Ms. Jessica Rene Tata, 22, operator of a home day care facility called Jackie's Child Care; located on 2810 Crest Park, West Houston, is alleged to have fled to Nigeria in her bid to avoid prosecution.
At her arraignment on Monday, Jessica Rene Tata who has a warrant for her arrest, and a bail bond set at $500,000, was a no show. According to Harrison County District Court Document obtained by huhuonline.com, the charge against her reads: “JESSICA TATA hereafter styled the Defendant, heretofore on or about February 24th,2011, did then and there unlawfully recklessly cause serious bodily injury to SHOMARI DICKERSON,herafter styled the complainant, a child younger than fifteen years of age, by leaving the leaving the complainant without adult supervision in a building with an engaged heat source”.
It’s not clear if Jessica Rene Tata, will face additional charges.
Huhuonline.com understands that last Thursday, Jessica Tata left seven infants unattended, unsupervised and went to a grocery store in her neighborhood, when the fire broke. Fire fighters rescued the children from the burning building, but three of them have since died at the hospital, while four other children are still receiving treatment.
Our checks reveal that Under US laws, it is generally considered unsafe to leave children under the age of eleven home alone.
In the word of eyewitnesses (John Chestnut and Geoffrey Deshano), “they saw Jessica Tata pull into the driveway at 2810 Crest Park on February 24th, 2011 and go to the front door. The witnesses stated that within seconds of her arrival at the day care, Jessica was heard screaming and they saw smoke coming from inside the building. John Chesnut Called 911, while Geoffrey Deshano tried to assist Jessica Tata.
According to the court affidavit, “Both witnesses stated that it only took them a few seconds to arrive at the fire scene, and they both stated that they saw no adults or employees of the daycare either inside the building or running out of the building other than Jessica Tata (Defendant). It appeared to them that the defendant was the only adult at the daycare”.
However, authorities in Houston have asked the U.S. Marshal’s Office to intervene to have Jessica Tata extradited back to Houston.
The Dubai-based Nigerian family reported missing while travelling from Lagos to Asaba last week has been found at last.
However, it was a tale of tragedy as three of the travellers – the mother, Edna, a Dubai-based staff of Standard Chartered Bank, her cousin, Chinyere, who had lost her only daughter last December, and the driver of the chartered Toyota Camry saloon car, Godfrey Inalegwu – were found dead in a village near Okada after their car plunged into a river, while trying to avoid a pothole. Only the three children – Loveth, 11, Precious 8 and Golden 6 – were rescued and taken to a private hospital in Ofumwegbe town, near Benin City, Edo State, Southsouth Nigeria. Their escape was simply miraculous, according to the rescuers.
P.M.NEWS in its Wednesday, 2 February 2011 edition, reported that the family was missing last week Wednesday during their trip from Lagos to Asaba in a Toyota Camry saloon car with registration number Lagos KU 108 EKY.
The husband of the Dubai banker, himself an accountant, Mr. Ugochukwu Onyeocha had told P.M.NEWS that when his family left Lagos about 10.00 a.m in the car, he communicated with his wife on phone twice, about 11 in the morning and 3 p.m.
He sensed something was wrong after he lost contact thereafter, believing that the wife was in an area where there was no phone network or that her phone was switched off. In the morning, he was awoken by a phone call from his mother-in-law that his wife and the children were yet to arrive Asaba. This prompted Onyeocha to involve the police. His report to the police at the State Criminal .Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos however yielded no immediate clue as to the whereabouts of his family.
The police investigators told Onyeocha that the tracker in the Toyota car had shown that the car and the occupants got missing in a village called Otu Costain in Edo State.
The missing car was located at Okada, near Benin City.
It was discovered that the family had an accident and their vehicle plunged into a river. The survivors were later taken to Emiloju Medical Centre, in Ofumwegbe town, near Benin City, Edo State.
The Medical Director of the centre, Dr. Mohammed Yakubu, treated the three children.
According to him, “On 26 January, 2011 at about 7.30 p.m, these three children were brought here by kind-hearted villagers. They were unconscious. The villagers said the car in which they were travelling skidded into a river as the driver tried to manoeuvre a pothole on the road,” Mohammed said.
The doctor stated that the villagers with the help of policemen from a nearby police station were able to recover the car. But their mother, her cousin and the driver were dead. Only the three children were grasping for breath.
Dr. Mohammed said he was able to revive the three children and they were recuperating in his hospital, this morning.
The doctor added that the villagers with the help of policemen from Iguobazuwa Divisional Headquarters, Edo State, moved the three corpses to the mortuary of another hospital near the village.
As at the time of going to press, the father, Onyeocha, P.M.NEWS correspondent and Dr. Mohammed were on their way to the hospital where the corpses were kept.
The tragedy has confirmed the fears of Nigerians abroad, wary of returning home because of the epidemic of armed robbery, fraudsters, political violence and carnage on the roads.

For three boys from the Tokelau Islands the word miracle has a whole new meaning.
After going missing following a sporting event in October, and after several unsuccessful searches by New Zealand's air force, they were presumed dead. About 500 people on the island held a memorial service for them.
But for Samuel Perez and Filo Filo, both 15, and Edward Nasau, 14, this story ended in the most unbelievable way - being rescued by a tuna ship near Fiji after 50 days at sea, according to Radio New Zealand.
Since October 5, the three survived with limited supply. They shared a single raw seagull and drank a tiny bit of rainwater. They eventually resorted to drinking small amounts of sea water, Australia's Herald Sun reported.
On Wednesday afternoon, their saga finally came to an end when the tuna boat, the San Nikunau, saw their small aluminum boat floating in the middle of open waters. They were and 807 miles (1,300 km) away from where they went missing....
'We got to them in a miracle," the first mate, Tai Fredricsen, told the Sydney Morning Herald.
"They were in reasonably good spirits for how long they'd been adrift," Fredricsen told the Herald Sun. "They were very badly sunburnt. They were in the open during the day up in the tropics there. But really they just needed basic first aid."
Call it a miracle, or call it luck, but for these boys, it was a rescue that might not have happened if not for chance.
The tuna boat was fishing far from where it usually does, the crew told the Herald Sun. It was taking a shortcut home to New Zealand when it stumbled upon the boys.
The boys were being checked at a hospital but were ecstatic to finally be able to speak by phone to their families.
"They've got a lot of gusto, a lot of strong mental spirit," Fredricsen told the Morning Herald. "Physically they are very [distraught] but mentally they are very strong."
Three Americans died in weekend violence in the area of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, a U.S. official said.
"Two citizens were fatally shot early Sunday close to the Zaragoza international bridge," State Department spokesman Philip Crowley said Monday. "In a separate incident, another U.S. citizen was fatally wounded in Ciudad Juarez itself."
Violence is rife in the area, as the Juarez and Sinaloa cartels battle for control of lucrative smuggling routes into the United States, where demand for illegal drugs is strong...
The circumstances of the Americans' deaths weren't immediately clear.
"First, we offer our condolences to the families of the victims," Crowley said. "We have been in touch with those families and are providing all possible assistance."
Crowley added, "We will support the Mexican government in the investigation that is already under way."
Amid tension, fear, hopes and high expectations Chidinma was tonight pronounced the winner of Project Fame West Africa season 3. The last six contestants – Kesse, Ochuko, Eyo, Tolu, Yetunde and Chidinma lined up after their performances for the night, waiting for the breaking news. The comperes, Benjamin and Adora delayed the announcement as usual, raising the fright even more. Their eyebrows were blinking per second. They breathed in and out almost every minute – the tension is heightened..
The studio was quiet for few minutes as the validated voting result, enclosed in an envelope was handed over to the hosts. Even the Joke Silva led faculty crew looked tensed. Eventually, Chidinma Ekile who drastically improved in the cause of the show was pronounced the 2010 Project Fame star as she was presented the cheque of N2.5m and keys to a brand new Toyota RAV4. She’s also entitled to a recording contract.
It’s the first time a lady is winning the contest. And Chidinma’s win makes it the third time a Nigerian is coming tops.
Ghana's Kesse Places 1st Runner Up....
Kesse made Ghana proud Gifted Ghanaian singer Kesse Frimpong was named 1st runner up winning- N1.5m and a Toyota Corolla while Eyo Eminue made the 2nd runner up position and went home with N1m and a Toyota Yaris.
Fan-favourite Yetunde (a.k.a. Omo Ibadan) was named third runner-up. The other two contestants, Tolu Adeshina and Ochuko Ogbu-Sifo didn’t completely lose out of the competition as the top six contestants are expected to release a group song, produced by one of Nigeria’s leading producers; a well as a video.
Ultima boss Femi Ayeni tells us the Academy is committed to pushing and supporting all six finalists… Iyanya was the winner of the debut edition MTN Project Fame (season 1) in 2008. Shortly after his historic win he released a single and eventually an album which ushered him into the hall of fame of Nigerian musicians.
Mike Anyasodo emerged the second winner of season 2 in 2009. With his debut album in the pipeline, he has released several singles including the recent ‘Fine Fine Lady’ which is receiving massive airplay on TV and Radio stations in the country.
Now it’s Chidinma’s turn to rock stardom, with her already acquired platform. Hopefully she would be the next big thing happening to the Nigerian music industry in a matter of months….
Bello Garba Bello, the first son of the late senior official of the state security service killed on Monday in Kano, has allegedly confessed that he was the one who actually stabbed his father, Garba Bello, his mother, Habiba and his three siblings to death in a murder case that has shocked residents of the city.
Twenty-two-year-old Mr Bello (Baba) made this confession yesterday at the headquarters of the Kano State Police Command, Bompai Kano..
The state Police Commissioner, Mohammed J. Gana, showed journalists a handwritten confessional statement allegedly written by the suspect, in which he confessed to killing his family and said that after he killed them, he tried to commit suicide but couldn’t after realising the enormity of what he did.
Mr Bello, who is a 200 level Physics student of the Kano State University of Technology, Wudil (KSUT), had also all egedly confessed, in a hand written statement submitted to the state command of the State Security Service (SSS), that he single-handedly carried out the killings. He also claimed that his anger was that his father was going to die because of his terminal illness and that he could not bear the responsibilities of catering for his mother and siblings that would follow subsequently.
He said in the statement that he stabbed his parents and three of his siblings to death at about 2am on Monday this week. “My father cannot provide for my basic needs, so I killed them all with knives,” the statement to the police reads. “It was painful to me and the entire family. It was an unbearable, irreparable loss. My father has been bedridden and I know he is not going to survive. I did the job alone.
“The intention was to wipe out the entire family and after that, I called my neighbours, Isiaku and Buhari immediately after the incident.”
Speculations not at rest
Security officials say his confession puts to rest speculations about the motive behind the killing of 54-year-old Bello and four members of his family.
The incident also saw 40-year-old Habiba strangulated and three of their children, 16-year-old Hafsat; 14-year-old Khalifa and five-year-old Murjatu murdered in cold blood.
One Umar Danjani, who claimed to be a relation of the deceased SSS official, has, however, disagreed with the police and the said confessional statement of Mr Bello.
Mr Danjani said that Farouk, the other surviving son of the late Bello, told the family that he saw another man who was wearing a white singlet, called Aminu, kill his family members. He also said some neighbours heard the sound of a whistle and sound of many persons.
“This means that the younger Bello did not carry out the killings alone,” he said.
Story from Daily Trust
The eldest son of the slain assistant director of the State Security Service (SSS) yesterday confessed to the murder of his father, mother three siblings without the help of any accomplice.
Daily Trust gathered that 23-year-old Bello Garba Bello, popularly known as Baba, was whisked away by the operatives of the SSS shortly after the incident on Monday morning. And since the incident, there have been speculations that he was involved in the murder given his surprise escape.
Appearing in chains and shackles, visibly ruffled Baba told newsmen at the police headquarters yesterday that he attempted to wipe all the family members and then commit suicide.
“I killed my parents and my siblings alone without the help of anybody. It was a sad event. It was a great loss to our relations,” he said as he shook his head, adding that he killed them while they were at the father’s sick bed. According to Baba, he used two knives in the kitchen and stabbed the family members and in the process his brother Farouk escaped and hid in the bathroom. Although he was unable to give a coherent detail as to the sequence of the murder, he revealed that his ailing father died and then he killed the remaining family members. “I stabbed him after he died because I realised that life would be unbearable for the family members after our father’s death,” he said.
He noted that he refused to commit suicide because his 11-year-old brother was also alive. A security source however said the motive behind the young man’s act was because he wanted to inherit the house and a few other assets of the father.
When his younger brother, Faruq, who also escaped, hid in the bathroom, he attempted in vain to force open the door and kill him too. On realising that he could not kill his brother, Baba warned him not to confess to anybody that he (Baba) killed his parents and siblings.
Another security official who spoke with our correspondent under condition of anonymity said Baba was under the effect of drugs when they arrested him on Monday morning. Many neighbours also corroborated the security official’s remark, saying Baba was a drug addict.
“Investigations showed that the suspect is a drug addict, and as soon as I saw him in the morning I knew that the boy was part of the crime,” a security official told our reporter. Addressing the press yesterday, the Kano Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Gana, said the late SSS officer was on his sickbed and the family members were gathered around him praying for his recovery when Baba came into the compound and said since his father’s ailment had appeared terminal, he should be killed immediately.
The commissioner noted that after saying that the father should be killed for the family to rest, he went and picked a knife and began stabbing them. But the family spokesman, Umar Danjani Hadejia, said they were unhappy with the conduct of the investigation, saying Baba did not commit the murder alone without the hand of other accomplices. He said the family was surprised with the police and the SSS’s conclusion that Baba alone committed the murders.
“We are not ruling out Baba’s involvement in the murders but we believe there are some accomplices because when his mother put a distress call to her sister she told her ‘they are going to kill us’ not ‘he is going to kill us’, and when she asked her to disclose their identity, she said ‘Baba and others’,” said Alhaji Danjani.
The family also said that 11-year-old Faruq had confessed to them that he recognised one Aminu, who was wearing short knickers, among the killers. While further expressing the family’s dismay with the outcome of the investigation, he called on the SSS and the police to thoroughly investigate the matter and bring the accomplices to book. Bello Garba Bello, popularly known as Baba, dropped out from the Physics Department at the Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil.
After the embarrassing incident in Ugandan, penultimate week, in which President Jonathan was left stranded, the Nigerian Government on Wednesday approved the purchase of three additional aircrafts for the Presidential Air Fleets (PAF) at a cost of $150 million.

The automobiles – all brand-new- were acquired from Lagos-based Coscharis Motors.
It’s uncertain if they will add the new cars to their fleet (including a Hummer, Toyota Avalon, Toyota Camry and Toyota Prado) or dispose of the old set.
Meanwhile, the multiple award-winning singers have reportedly moved into their ‘N300million mansion’ on Lola Holloway Street, Omole Estate Phase 1, in Lagos..
poor soldiers i mean lastma guys.
Four soldiers and two naval officers have beaten three officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA into unconsciousness at Mile 2 area of Lagos State, Nigeria.
The LASTMA officers-Gbenga Ajayi-Bembe, Akeem Bisiriyu and Abiodun Kayode were battered by the military men while trying to tow a broken down trailer obstructing traffic at Mile 2.
They were immediately rushed to the Gbagada General Hospital for treatment where they were revived after remaining in a state of unconsciousness for sometime.
P.M. NEWS gathered that trouble started when the Head, Zone 5, LASTMA had asked Kayode, the LASTMA towing vehicle driver to go and tow a trailer, which broke down at Mile 2 ‘Oke.’
The owner of the trailer was said to have called in the soldiers and naval officers who came and gave Kayode the beating of his life.
The soldiers successfully removed the trailer that had already been carried by the towing van and drove off while Kayode contacted his boss to come to his rescue, and then chased after the fleeing trailer being driven by the soldiers.
Getting to First Gate, Mile 2, Kayode used his towing vehicle to block the trailer while the soldiers came down and descended on him and beat him mercilessly until he collapsed into a state of unconsciousness, while two other officers came to rescue him.
The other two officers-Ajayi-Bembe and Bisiriyu who came to rescue their colleagues were also thoroughly beaten until they also became unconscious while the soldiers and the naval officers took the trailer away.
Speaking with P.M. NEWS, Kayode narrated the story, saying that “my boss told me to go and tow a trailer which broke down at Mile 2 Oke. I had already jacked the trailer into the towing van when the owner went to call two soldiers and they beat me up and removed the trailer from the van...
“I called my boss to come to my rescue and I pursued the trailer to first gate and blocked it. More soldiers and naval officers came and they beat me until I fainted.
“They beat my two other colleagues into unconsciousness and they smashed the windscreen of the towing van. I was soaked in blood before I passed out. The area boys in the area also started throwing stones at us.”
The three LASTMA officers also sustained severe injuries.
As at the time of filing this report, Bisiriyu was still seriously in bad condition in the hospital as he could not talk.
Barkindo said that the resumption of gas supply to the countries was because domestic gas supply had improved, hinting also that supply to Ghana was initially stopped to satisfy local demand.
The NNPC GMD, who was speaking to journalists on the sidelines of a meeting organised by the corporation titled, "Stakeholders' forum on gas to power: Achieving alignment for delivering gas to power in Nigeria," said, "Today, we have started supplying the West African Gas Pipeline, which we had to shut down in order to divert the gas for domestic utilisation."
He added that the reason for the resumption of supply was "Because power generation has started to go up."
The West African Gas Pipeline Company, the firm delivering Nigeria's gas to Ghana, had in a statement issued in November 2009, said, "WAPco, last April delivered its first natural gas supply to VRA's Takoradi Thermal Plant at Aboadze near Takoradi, under an interim gas supply arrangement.
"This initial supply enabled VRA to commission one of its 100 megawatts' turbines and generate power in Ghana from natural gas.
"Since May 2009, however, WAPCo has not received gas from N-Gas Limited for further delivery to VRA due to vandalism of gas supply pipelines in the Niger Delta region, several kilometres upstream of the WAGP connection to the Nigerian Gas Company's Escravos-Lagos Pipeline system."
Corroborating Barkindo's statement on increased power generation , the Executive Director, Operations, Power Holding Company of Nigeria, Mr. John Ayodele, who was also speaking on the sidelines of the conference in Lagos, said power generation was 3,558 megawatts on Monday morning and could climb to 3,700MW by Tuesday morning.
Also, Barkindo, had, in a presentation at the opening ceremony of the event, explained reasons why the oil industry could not achieve the 1.2 billion standard cubic feet of gas- domestic -gas- target agreed between it and government in 2008 and which government provided adequate funds for.in 2008 and 2009 budgets.
According to him, although the industry achieved 885 million standard cubic feet, it fell short of the target beacuse of the security situation in the Niger Delta, which was poor between 2008 and 2009 and operational challenges in the various oil producing companies.
Barkindo said, " The 1.2 billion scfd, domestic gas supply obligation was distributed among Joint Venture companies, including the NNPC and some of the Production Sharing Contracts' operators like Pan Ocean. In each of the companies, they had internal challenges. Now, this meeting that we convened will give us the opportunity to jointly review and address these challenges in order to come out with a joint programme of action, that is realistic, flexible and will enable us, not only to achieve the missed target but also to bring forward the projects which are being funded in the 2010 budget."
He stated that the outcome of the conference would be presented to Acting President Goodluck Jonathan
