While addressing a press conference in Abuja on Monday, the former Ijaw Youth Council president and founder of Niger Delta People's Volunteer Force said:

The arrogance of B/H is un-islamic. The type of bomb they are using is small small pikin bomb. If we begin, nobody will stay in Abuja.
We don’t manufacture bomb but we buy bombs & dynamites. I started armed struggle in the N/Delta. It's because of GEJ that we at quiet. Soon, we will not be able to guarantee our patience any more. If Ijaw people should retaliate, every household in the North will cry. It is the North that needs peace more than us.

While Naija girls are selling theirs for pepper soup and Big stout . I thought our teens were smart ?
Hungarian teen sells her virginity for N50m .See Hunger in Hungary !

A Hungarian teen has sold her virginity to a British buyer - who won out in a £200,000 (about N50 million) bidding war.

The sale - which was originally launched on eBay - continued by email after the online auction giant discovered the nature of the transaction and pulled the plug.

The 18-year-old girl - who identified herself only as Miss Spring - said she is now coming to Britain.

A determined Irish punter had attempted to gazump the United Kingdom bidder.

The pretty blonde dreams of going to university to become a doctor and has already qualified for a place - but has put it on hold to help her family.

She said: "My family has debts, we cannot afford to pay them. My mother borrowed a lot of money in Swiss Francs, and now with the credit crunch in Hungary the repayments in Hungarian forints have tripled, she couldn't pay it back.

"We faced losing our home and being on the street. I want to be able to pay back those loans - that's why I came up with the idea for this auction.

"It is not such a lot of money for what is on offer, considering half will vanish in tax, but it will be enough to pay of my debts and leave us clear.

"I was in contact with two final bidders - the Irish guy and the British guy. Both wanted me to come to them. I chose the British guy. He was very sympathetic to my cause.

"Both men wanted to marry me take care of me and my family. But for me this was supposed to be a one off thing. Getting married and living with someone is a challenge I am not sure I am yet ready for.

"However I would really like the opportunity to go to Britain or Ireland. So who knows."

In her blog she does not say how she is proceeding to conclude the deal.

Dogonyaro: The Multi-Purpose Herbal Tree

Amina Yusuf, a mother of three, did not have to worry much when her 12-year-old son, Musa, went down with malaria fever. The nearest hospital to her village in a state in the North is about 20 km away, and she cannot afford the transport fare and medical treatment of her boy.But for Amina, nature has provided a remedy, and as usual she must utilise a common herbal treatment if she must save the life of her son. And this, she did.Surrounding her family compound are numerous trees which the locals believe have the potential of curing all ailments. With a handful of leaves from the tree mixed with other herbs, Amina produced a steaming concoction of local medicament, which she administered to Musa.Musa got well after a few days of drinking from and bathing with the concoction.“With Dogonyaro I do not have to use Western medication because it is very effective in the treatment of malaria.“Dogonyaro is bitter and everyone of us took it as we grew up as children, especially those of us in the rural areas,” says Amina. The tree, Azadirachta Indica, is common in the arid and semi-arid areas of Nigeria. Otherwise called Neem, the potency of Dongoyaro is indisputable as it is has been used by many generations of rural and urban dwellers in the country.“As a child, I remember vividly the dreaded early morning cupful of Dogonyaro that my parents often forced us to drink. It is bitter but we had to take it as our anti-malarial medication.“I remember how my mother would practically force me to drink a cup each time I was down with malaria. She would force me under the cover of a blanket with a hot pot ofDogonyaro and make me inhale the steam.“It is a sure cure for malaria because no sooner was my mother done with me than I would be back on my feet,” says Mrs. Patience Okudini, a businesswoman in Ashaka, Delta State.Neem is a species of the mahogany plant family, and a native of India and Burma, both in tropical South-East Asia. It is an evergreen tree, and usually grows between 10 metres and 15 metres tall.Experts say although it is a tropical plant, it also thrives in the Savannah ecosystems.Beyond its herbal potency, Neem also stabilises the environment as it can be planted as windbreakers, particularly for checking desert encroachment.Advancements in biotechnology have found other commercial benefits of the Neem tree. These include production of soaps, organic fertilisers, toothpaste, body cream, as well as other medical products and food supplements.Dr. Hadiza Nuhu of the Department of Pharmacognosy and Drug Development, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, describes Neem as a single tree with great but under-utilised potential.According to her, Neem is known for its anti-malarial and anti-insectile properties, as well as its effectiveness in the treatment of Chloroquine-resistant malaria.Noting that Neem has curative properties, she says the tree is the answer to finding a permanent cure for malaria.“The Nigerian Neem is much more concentrated. Thanks to research, today Neem is no longer dreaded; it is now loved. There is a lot of research potential in it.“It should be incorporated in the National Malaria Policy,” she told an international workshop on “Neem-based Products: Production and Applications’’ in Zaria. The workshop was organised by the National Research Institute for Chemical Technology (NARICT), Zaria, in collaboration with Saberg International and Trifolio-M, both of Germany.NARICT has the mandate to undertake research and development into processes for the conversion of solid minerals, petroleum and agricultural raw materials into useful industrial chemicals. It also conducts research and development activities into industrial plastics and other synthetic materials. Its Director-General, Dr Ebenezer Okonkwo, says the current global economic meltdown is an opportunity for government to look inward by developing the country’s natural resources, including Neem.According to him, processed oil from Neem seed can be another source of foreign exchange earnings that will turn around the nation’s economy.“This is the reason for the workshop to generate ideas and synergy on the best practices for utilising Neem with the philosophy of further developing the ‘wonder tree’ for more economic uses,” he says.According to him, the institute has carried out studies on the Neem tree and has documented information on how the plant can be transformed into wealth for national development.Okonkwo suggests the evolution of a policy that will encourage the cultivation of the plant across the country.“With a well developed strategy, a number of multi million-dollar industries can emerge from the Neem project.“These include health and pharmaceuticals because of its medicinal properties, agricultural support, pesticides, cosmetics, food and beverages as well as fertiliser,” he says.According to him, the Neem seed has a high concentration of Neem-bioactive ingredients, while a lot of products with great export potential can be produced from it.“The Nigeria Neem seed has about 0.6 per cent azadirachtin content, while the Indian Neem and that of other Asian countries are 0.2 per dent and 0.3 per cent respectively,” Okonkwo says. The director-general says the institute is discussing possible areas of collaboration with Erga Associate, an Israeli company, for the utlisation of Neem oil because of its attractive export potential. He notes that members of the Neem Production Association have been charged to scale up the production of the seed to meet the expected demand.Besides, he says the institute has developed sustainable and adaptable technologies for processing Neem seed into oil.“NARICT’s Neem-based bio-pesticide plant is an agro-allied plant that processes Neem seeds into Neem-based pesticide, fertilizer and oil,” Okonkwo says.Other secondary products can also be derived from the Neem seed to boost the economy, he says, adding that Neem-based biocides have a great advantage over the conventional ones, and can command a sizeable share of the international market. He says the Neem-based biocides are non-toxic, generally mild on the environment and are less prone to the problem of pest-resistance than the synthetic ones.“Global concern over pesticides that destroy useful insects such as bees makes the Neem idea more attractive because it does not destroy useful insects,” the director-general says.He adds that entrepreneurs can take advantage of the emerging market as Neem belts already exist in the frontline states of Borno, Katsina, Kebbi and Zamfara.Mr. Zakari Ladan, a researcher and a chemist at NARICT, says the genetic constituent of Neem tree resides in its seed.According to him, the export potential of Neem seed is very high, especially in countries such as India, Germany and the U.S.“Every part of the Neem tree is useful; the leaf and its back are widely used in the manufacture of ointment, face cleaning agents and toothpastes,” Ladan says.Dr. Hubertus Kleeberg, the Managing Director of Germany’s Trifolio-M and a resource person at the workshop, says Nigeria is blessed with great human and natural resources that should be the envy of other nations. He notes that one of the resources is the Neem seed and adds that it has been widely used for decades in organic production in Europe and other countries.“There is no reason why Nigeria cannot turn its economy around if adequate attention is paid to Neem seed, which is highly concentrated.“The Nigeria Neem seed contains the highest concentration of Neem-bioactive ingredient in the world,” Kleeberg notes.According to him, what the government needs is to make a deliberate effort at harnessing the natural resource to ensure its cultivation and proper utilisation. He says that besides its medicinal properties, the tree can effectively control insects, pests and mites.“It is God’s answer to most of nature’s problems,” the German says.

The lady, who refused to give her name, claimed she was a witch on a mission. She further revealed that she flew from Obubra in Cross River State, to afflict her victim with epilepsy in Lagos. However, her supposed mission was not accomplished because, according to her, on reaching 4 Iwajuwa Street, dogs in the area started barking, resulting in her losing her balance in the air. The loud bang on the roof of the three-story building was said to have jolted the tenants from sleep at about 3am.

Occupants of the building, who said they mistook the sound as an explosion, could, however, not come out to ascertain the cause of the sound until 5am, when they reportedly heard a strange noise from the top of the building. The unidentified lady was thereafter brought down where she reportedly revealed her mission, following which an angry mob descended on her.

She later turned violent, throwing stones and dangerous objects. At this stage, the onlookers took to their heels, with mothers calling out to their children to leave the scene. But some brave young men were able to disarm her and were at the verge of lynching her when police officers from Gowon Estate arrived and took her away.

I see Adedibu in my dreams once in two weeks –Widow Our Sources say this edited version does not contain the chilling news of Adedibus warning from the Grave that HELL IS REAL ! Rumours are circulating in Ibadan that Adedibu appeared to his widow and says he is burning in Hell Fire ! Below is the edited version From AKEEB ALARAPE, Ibadan For upward of 20 years, Alhaja Modinat Abosede Adedibu bestrode the political circles of Oyo State , side by side with her beloved husband, late Chief Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu. Popularly referred to as ‘Yeye’, Alhaja Bose was a force to be reckoned in the running of Molete political empire of Adedibu. Her words are laws and you dare not look her in the face if you don’t want to curry the anger of the ‘boys’. your advertisement http://www.naijalondon.com http://www.ask9ja.com classifieds At the death of her husband last year, the running of Molete naturally fell on her lap as Adedibu’s hangers-on departed Molete for greener pastures at the homes of other political leaders in the state. Preparatory to the commemoration of the one year anniversary of the death of the strongman of Ibadan politics, Alhaja Bose opened up to Daily Sun on the challenges facing her and how she has been coping with life after the demise of his godfather husband. Excerpts: By June 11, it will be one year that Baba departed to the world beyond. How has life been without Baba? Well, I thank God for everything. It has been okay, no matter what. We still miss him and we will miss him for life. I thank God for everything. Is there any plan to commemorate the one year of his death? So many people have their plans for remembering him, not only on Thursday or Friday; but those that he had touched their lives. They have their plans. I, too, have my plans. The children also have their own. I know my husband loved prayers too much. Yes, I know he loved to pray and I too do pray for him whenever I pray five times daily. But in commemoration of one year of his death, I will organize special prayers for him on Thursday and Friday. The prayers will continue but at least to mark those two days. On the plans by his political children, so many of them have contacted me but until that day I cannot say what they have up their sleeves. I can’t be asking them what they have for the man. But I think they know their responsibilities and rights. They know this man had touched their lives and they want to pay him back after his demise. So, there are too many plans that I cannot go into details. Whoever comes that day will be welcome. What has been your relationship with numerous political children left behind by Baba? Are they living up to expectations? No. No. I mean most of them. There is a Yoruba proverb that says ‘iwon ba ni awon to le se ehin’, meaning; ‘only a few can represent one in ones absence’. Have they been shutting their doors against you? Well, like my husband, I too believe so much in prayers. But those that know God very well among them and who also believe that one day we will all go to where this man has gone, are still with me and the family. Apart from being your husband, who was Adedibu to you? Everything. Did you know him? If you happen to sit down with him; if you happen to talk with him, what will you say about him? That is why I said he is everything to me. There is an adage that says ‘a kii rin ki ori ma mi’, meaning; ‘nobody can be perfect’. The man was a fantastic man. When it comes to prayers, you cannot beat him. In politics, he is yet to be surpassed. Whenever they called him the strongman of Ibadan politics, I just look at them. He was not a strongman of Ibadan politics, he was the strongman of Nigerian politics. Yes, the strongman of Nigerian politics. And he knew what he was doing. You know, he followed his masters faithfully and he learnt a lot from them. I thank God for his life because God was actually merciful to him. If there is room for re-incarnation and you happen to meet him again as an Adedibu, a politician, will you marry him? Yes. Yes. Honestly. Honestly, I will prefer to marry him if we meet again. Is it because of the fame, or the financial benefit you drive from him? Domestically, are you saying he was also a fantastic husband? Yes. He was a loving father and a caring husband. You people underrated him. With him and the children, you can never quantify him. As he had time for politics, he had time for the children also. I can say he even had time for the children more than politics. And he cared. What have been the challenges facing the family since the last one year of Baba’s death? So far, so good. That is why I say I thank God. So many challenges. So many things. For instance, there is a stupid boy that used to send text messages to my mobile phones even in the mid of the night. He will curse me and curse my children. And we did not know the boy. It was not until Friday, June 5 that we discovered him. I would have reported him but I was told to leave him to God. And I have decided to leave him to God because this particular boy is one of my handwork. So, for him to be sending text messages to me, cursing me in the absence of my husband; if my husband were to be alive, can he do that? That is one of the insults. But the boy will soon know that God is a God of justice. He will soon realize that God will reward his deeds very soon. What was his grouse? Nothing between me and him. He was sending text messages to me because he claimed he heard that I wanted to contest the Federal House of Representatives seat, which Hon. Folake Oshinowo is presently occupying. He didn’t ask me; I didn’t tell anybody I am going to contest. Maybe, he was trying to satisfy Hon. Folake; I don’t know. But Hon. Folake and I are in good terms. She is my very good sister and her husband too is my very good brother. We are very close. I don’t know the boy’s problem. You know, maybe he is benefiting something from Hon. Folake and he has to show that he is doing something in her favour in return. But I am very sure that very soon, he will meet his waterloo. You still look young and beautiful. Do you have any plan to remarry after Baba’s demise or you are contented living as his widow? (Laughs). How can I plan to remarry? Well, if I want to marry, I can still marry but it is not in my plan. My children are enough for me and they are doing fine. Did Baba give you any specific message or instruction before his death or a premonition of his death? No, he did not. He might have known that he was about to die but he did not tell me anything. Maybe, he had known that he wanted to die because his attitude changed even not three days before he died. That was why, before he died, I used to sit beside him; to monitor him and to correct him. What he was saying was the normal instructions and I did not see anything special about them. As husband and wife, we used to discuss a lot. Now that he had died, I tend to reflect on some of the things he told me and now connect them with his death. Then, it dawned on me that he might have seen his death coming. In the last one year, have you had the cause of seeing him in your dream? Yes, all the time. At least, once in two weeks, I will see him in my dream. He will give me instructions on those he used to assist with money when he was alive and that I should go and give them money. He will advise me about matters affecting the children and he will always admonish me not to fight. He also used to ask aftermembers of his political family, especially those who have stopped coming to see us. I don’t know how he got to know all these from his new abode. You have learnt a lot from Baba that you too can now be described as a politician, is it true you are planning to contest or you prefer to remain a godmother? Hmm. I don’t really want to contest. Initially, I wanted to contest before the arrival of my son-in-law, Senator Kamarudeen Adedibu; but since he has been there, I have dropped the idea. You still maintain all the domestic staff left behind by Baba Adedibu, how are you managing to cope with them? Thank God, I am doing my best. But I will say it is to God’s intervention. I am trying to cope. Is there any plan to immortalize Adedibu’s name in view of his contribution to the politics of the state? You mean in terms of a foundation in his name and all that? Well, there is. We are on it. The children and the government are putting something together. But I don’t know what Baba’s political children are doing to immortalize his names. However, the governor and the deputy-governor have been doing their best for the family of Adedibu. If the governor is not coming to Molete again that does not mean he is not doing what is expected of him. You know, he cannot satisfy everybody since the family is a very large one. To me, his not coming here (Molete) does not mean anything. Whenever I want to see him or any member of the family, he sees us at interval. The deputy-governor too has been doing fine. You know, his relationship is not based on politics. He is a son to Baba. So, he cannot afford to forget his father’s house.

Dora-Akunyili-225x300.jpg?width=225Since the result of Anambra Central Senatorial election was announced and Dr. Chris Ngige of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Dora Akunyili’s immediate family members cannot help but laugh hilariously over her failure. A source close to the family informed that the family, who are not on good terms with the former NAFDAC boss, had earlier predicted her woes before the election. And when she failed, they went into jubilation as they condemned her being picked to contest the seat. “They never wished her success in her political aspiration because she is not good to them at all. She is always full of herself as she has fought every member of her family,” said our source

Reference was made to one of Akunyili’s family membersher nephewwho wrote her a very long letter outlining her problems with the family on the burial ceremony of Dora’s sister that she allegedly disrupted. The letter reads:

Dear Aunty Dora,

I write you this letter as your first nephew and first son of your late sister. I write you on behalf of our family, the family of your late eldest sister. I write with deep sorrow and pain in my heart. I have chosen this medium because it seems to be the only medium you enjoy and especially since you decided to politicize the death of my mother through the mass media. You are the Minister of Information and Communications and in control of Government-owned media. You have really demonstrated to us and all Nigerians how much powers you have by mobilizing all Government media to fight your private family battles. You know I have always cared for and respected you and all my aunties and uncles. This letter is out of care and concern for you Aunty. You may not appreciate it now but I am sure that in a few years time, it will all make sense. The goal of this letter is to remind you of our mortality in this world, and to beg of you to please let my mother truly rest in peace!

You would recall Aunty, that when you were lobbying for the NAFDAC position, you asked my late mother and all of us to go on fasting and prayers and that if God answered our prayers, the family would never be the same again. It is up to you, Aunty, to assess whether in the last 10 years you have been in public service the family has seen more pain or gain. I now agree that power corrupts. But Aunty, take it easy because as the late Azikiwe once reminded everyone, ‘no condition is permanent’! Life is a stage, and all positions remain temporal and ephemeral. In the end, you will still need this family, and you may not know exactly when or how!

Your tribute to my late mother attests to the fact that she literally brought you up, and was the matriarch of your family since your parents died early. But over the last several years, you brought so much pain and sorrow that she regretted having you as a sister. Her unanswered question remained: “what did I do to Dorothy?” Only you can answer that question! It speaks volumes that your eldest sister who doubled as your mother was sick for about six months and was even flown abroad for six weeks and you did not know. Of course, if you were on talking terms with her or if you ever called her on phone, you would have known. Whatever may be your reasons for your behaviour towards her, it baffles us that you have no compassion even to the dead. Your conduct before, during and after the burial/funeral ceremonies gave the impression that you were bent on disrupting the ceremonies for reasons best known to you. In the attempts, caution was thrown to the wind and perhaps you may not be aware that you committed several abominations in the process.

TB Joshua Escapes Death

Pastor Temitope Balogun Joshua, founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations, yesterday escaped death inside his church. The clergyman was said to be preaching to a multitude of congregation both within and outside when a young man rushed out among the crowd with a dagger in his hand and charged towards the preacher.

It took the intervention of the some church workers to rescue the man of God.

Though the intention of the man is not known yet, it was learnt that he came prepared. He was also able to beat the heavy security details within the church to hatch the plan.

Immediately he was apprehended, he was quickly handed over to the men of the mobile police within the church premises.

There was panic at the Ikotun, Lagos-based Synagogue Church of All Nations last Sunday when a man with a knife forced himself through the crowd of worshippers and attempted to stab the controversial pastor, Prophet T.B. Joshua, on the pulpit while he was preaching.

The 43-year old intruder, identified as Louise Mberi,, armed himself with a knife and attempted to stab the prophet during a church service but was stopped by ushers and other security personnel before he could reach T.B. Joshua.

Louise allegedly hid the knife in his waist and was heading for the altar where T.B. Joshua was preaching when vigilant ushers suspected his moves and stopped him.

When he was searched by the security men, a sharp knife was found on him and was promptly handed over to policemen.

The discovery cause panic in the church as security was beefed up around the prophet who continued his sermon despite the development.

When he was interrogated by policemen at the Ikotun station, Louise claimed that he was going to the altar to seek prayers from T.B. Joshua for his poor health. He could not, however, explain why he armed himself with a knife.

The police later charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court, Ikotun, for an attempt to stab and distrupt service at the Synagogue Church of All Nations.

The charge sheet reads: “That you, the defendant on the same date, time and place did attempt to stab by concealing a knife in your waist in order to cause havoc, panic and disturb peace during the church service at the Synagogue Church of All Nations,” an offence contrary to Sections 508 and 80 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 17, Vol.2, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge and the magistrate, Mrs. M. B. Folami, granted him bail in the sum of N25,000 with two sureties.

The court ordered that the sureties must be a blood relation of the accused.

The magistrate also ordered that the defendant must be taken to a psychiatric hospital for mental evaluation.

The matter has been adjourned till 20 December, 2010.

The defendant was later remanded in prison custody at Apapa, Lagos, pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.

A member of the Synagogue Church of All Nations who spoke on the incident expressed shock at the incident and wondered why anyone would want to harm the prophet he described as a philantropist.

12166295265?profile=originalPopular comedian, Francis Agoda (I go dye) has the intervention of veteran comedian, Ali Baba to thank for saving his life on Tuesday as military men on guard at the Warri township stadium venue of Uduaghan re-run campaign almost beat life out of him and his compatriot, Ogus Baba. According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred when the two comedians allegedly attempted to force their way past the stern-looking soldiers into the stadium. The source added that the security men, who did not care about their identity, ordered them to retreat or be dealt with.jpeg&STREAMOID=k7NwWGjODr78Vf8k47K1py6SYeqqxXXqBcOgKOfTXxTolrNK5pPNOE2uca2xZwfiwLkdkNm4NaK1iliY4aRX7GEabxkeoo57KN3LcI4Be79xyJSXHeyn6i9C8rc3E0xoX_kuXYWCUJRqviwH8FNPwULIcdFM9zupuYHBJc2ySZk-&width=333

Before the two entertainers could make up their minds to withdraw from the gate, the soldiers descended on them. It took the timely intervention of Ali Baba, (who threatened to stop the show) for ‘I go dye’ to be released by his tormentors. By then, he was already reeling in agony, with blood all over him from the slashes of the horsewhips. The other comedian, Ogus Baba, who showed some bravery by attempting to save his fellow comedian from the horsewhips of the angry soldiers, was not spared either as he also got his share of the flogging. He was said to have been so badly battered that he had to be rushed to an undisclosed clinic for treatment.

Also touched by the brutality of the soldiers was a personal aide of ‘I go dye’ whose name could not be identified, and another popular comedian, ‘I Go Save’, who got some bruises on his arms and legs.

Paid to perform

In a telephone conversation, the Warri-born comedian, Mr Agoda said he came to the stadium with his entourage with the intention of performing on the stage as he had been paid by the organisers of the event.

“On getting into the stadium, I was accosted by one of the soldiers and in an attempt to answer him, the other soldier unexpectedly slapped me from behind. The most annoying thing about the whole incident was that when I tried to explain to their superior officer, a colonel, the former soldier shoved me aside and immediately, other soldiers descended on me, beating the living daylight out of me,” Mr Agoda said.

He was later treated by the medical team at the stadium after being rescued from the soldiers by Ali Baba, who condemned the act of the uniformed men...

Mr Agoda has demanded for a public apology from the military for violating his “fundamental human right.” “This must be published in national newspapers,” he said.

Abuja Bomb Blast: Ben Jessy (wanted)

Huhuonline.com can disclose that barely 72

hours after Abuja bomb explosions, the NigeriaPolice has confirmed the arrest of a suspect. But the identity of the arrested suspect was not disclosed for security reasons.

The police also declared two others, Chima Orlu and Ben Jessy, wanted over the bomb blasts.

The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Emmanuel Ojukwu who made the disclosure in a statement in Abuja said forensic experts had already commenced analysis of over 100 vehicles trapped during the incidents.

He said 10 people were killed and 36 injured including 11 policemen.

He also claimed that the blasts completely destroyed six cars and damaged 18 others.Ojukwu said: “As you are already aware, two cars exploded before noon of 1stOctober, 2010, while the President, Commander-in-Chief was reviewing a colourful ceremony marking Nigeria ’s 50th Independence Anniversary.

“Both explosions occurred near a bridge adjacent to the Millennium Park , within a kilometre, East end of the Eagle Square .

.

“The ugly incident resulted in the death of 10 (ten) persons, while 36 (thirty-six) others, including 11 policemen were seriously injured. The blasts completely destroyed 6 (six) cars, damaged 18 (eighteen) others, and shattered the glasses of a hotel nearby. “The Nigeria Police deeply regrets the loss of innocent lives and the harm and damage done to the well being and property of fellow citizens. It is clear that the intention of the perpetrators of the evil act was to truncate Nigeria ’s celebration of half a century of her political freedom.

“Their motive was to cut short the joy of men and women of goodwill and to pour shame and contempt on our President and indeed the entire nation, in the very presence of dignitaries and eminent persons from around the world. “Certainly, these operators of an evil enterprise had targeted to commit mass murder of innocent children, young and old men and women, and members of the international community who had gathered to partake in our nation’s glorious moment.

24-year-old female student who allegedly hid 32 pellets of substances suspected to be cocaine under her breasts, three in her vagina and anus, on Monday appeared before an Accra Fast Track High Court. Evelyn Payin, a Ghanaian domiciled in Italy was alleged to have told Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) operatives that the drugs were given to her by her boyfriend to be given to someone in Italy for 3,500 dollars fee. Facing charges of attempted exportation of narcotic drugs and possessing drugs without lawful authority, the court presided over by Mr Justice Charles Quist did not take her plea but remanded her into police custody until September 3. Prosecuting, Mr Asiamah Sampong, Principal State Attorney told the court that accused holds an Italian passport number 327573 issued to her on April 2005. Sometime in August, this year, Evelyn was arrested at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on suspicion that she had narcotic substances on her. Prosecution said accused was billed to travel on board an Alitalia Airlines flight number AZ 845 bound for Italy. He said a search on her body by operatives of NACOB led to the discovery of 32 pellets of substances suspected to be cocaine hidden in a pair of socks, placed in an artificial brazier on her breast. During interrogation, prosecution said Evelyn admitted the offence and added that she had inserted a big pellet in her anus and two pellets in her vagina. She was escorted to NACOB Office and under a 24-hour observation, expelled the three pellets saying they were given to her by her boyfriend Nana Yaw Asumani to be given to someone for 3,500 dollars fee. He said the accused, however, failed to accompany NACOB officials to her boyfriend's residence to be arrested. Prosecution said the drugs with gross weight of 800 grammes had been forwarded to Ghana Standards Board for analytical examination.

"SEX ORGY IN LAGOS SCHOOL"

Teachers and parents of the Junior Secondary arm of the Oriwu College-Ikorodu, were shell-shocked to learn that students had turned a spot in the school into a centre for illicit sex and fun.

P.M.NEWS learnt that the school authorities recently discovered the dingy corner where male and female students usually had sex during school hours.

Some students of the Junior Secondary School arm of the school narrated how some of their colleagues were rounded up about two weeks ago by the school authorities at a dingy corner within the school premises where male and female students of the school normally had illicit sex and fun during school hours.

There were mattresses and toiletries at the joint which has now been dismantled.

It was also discovered tha a group of female students in the school had patronised witch doctors, who are known in local parlance as babalawo.

In the course of their confession during interrogation, the youngsters said that they patronised the witch doctors to curry the favour of fellow students and teachers and to ensure that they went scot-free each time they committed an offence.

The shocked school management invited the parents of the offending students. And most of them expressed surprise at the action of their children and wards, according to sources close to the meeting.

Two of the parents even burst into tears on learning that their children were involved in such immoral and fettish acts.

The witch doctor who allegedly cgarged each of the students about 2,000 naira for the portions he made for them, was said to have fled Ikorodu. All efforts to locate him have proved abortive.

The authorities of Oriwu College, which has produced prominent Nigerians, are said to have forwarded their recommendations on the offending students to the ministry of Education, in Alausa.

Meanwhile, teachers and workers in Oriwu College were said to have become extra vigilant to prevent a similar occurrence in the school.

12166305473?profile=originalThe spate of accident related deaths is crazy and alarming.

This is fresh off the press.

Phones have been buzzing and messages flooding in.

And, sadly, we can now confirm that Chidinma Mbalaso, the beautiful Koko Mansion contestant, who was yesterday involved in a road mishap in Kaduna, is dead.

Details are scanty for now, but multiple sources, including Koko Mansion winner Bolanle Okhiria and another contestant Sharon Ojong have confirmed Chidinma’s unfortunate passing.

Okhiria was in tears when she spoke with us few minutes ago.

Also, Abuja-based Amara Nwakpa, who sources say was close to the deceased, has taken to microbloging site Twitter to announce her death and bless her soul. ‘RIP Chidinma Mbalaso – 22 Jan 1989 – 25 Mar 2011. You will be remembered fondly and with love. Adieu little sister’ Nwakpa posted through his handle (@bubusn).

Mbalaso, who schooled at University of Abuja, was reportedly in a Coma for hours, as friends and family members ran helter-skelter trying to get her blood donation.

‘She lost so much blood. We were really working hard all night to get blood donations’ a friend tells us.

From midnight to this morning, several messages were spreading, urging anyone with contacts in Kaduna to please rise up and convince them to donate blood for the young lady.

‘Chidinma is at St Gerald’s hospital in Kaduna. Please call … (numbers withheld) if you can help. If you’re a B- or O-. She needs blood donation. Please save a life. Thanks!’

A reliable source tells us she was on her way back to Abuja, from Kaduna where she had gone to pick up her car. ‘This was her first car; she paid for with her money. She was driving back to Abuja when a motorcycle ran into her path. She was trying to avoid the motorcycle when she lost control…’

Miss Mbalaso’s death, coming a day after that of comedian CD John, and about a year to the anniversary of Dagrin’s, brings to the fore again, the horrible state of Nigerian roads, and the mess our medical system is in.

No word yet from HiTV or Mohits, but our reporters are working the phones to get more details and reactions.

STORY DEVELOPING…

Chidinma Mbalaso from the reality television show, Koko Mansion, is dead. According to multiple sources, the 22 year old was involved in a car crash on the Kaduna-Abuja road yesterday March, 24 2011 and died early this morning at St Gerald’s hospital in Kaduna.

Ayo Rotimi, who worked as music supervisor during the Koko Mansion show said “[I] am still shocked myself. I heard the news yesterday and also that she was in a coma and I have been seeing tweets on the issue. I’m really am unhappy about it. We are still dealing with CD John’s death and now this. What’s happening to our youth?”. Meanwhile Koko Mansion housemate, Rita Isoken appeared to be too upset to remark. “Please not today,” Isoken said over the phone.

Before her death, Mbalaso was said to have gone into a coma and was in need of a blood donor. She was one of the four finalists on the Mo’Hits sponsored TV show Koko Mansion in 2009.

NaturesPlatform- Man, like his fellow primates, has always used the squatting position for eliminationsitting-vs-squatting2-naturesplatform.gif. Infants of every culture instinctively adopt this posture to relieve themselves. Although it may seem strange to someone who has spent his entire life deprived of the experience, this is the way the human body was designed to function..

And this is the way our ancestors performed their bodily functions until the middle of the 19th century. Before that time, chair-like toilets had only been used by royalty and the disabled. But with the advent of indoor plumbing in the 1800’s, the throne-like water closet was invented 22 to give ordinary people the same “dignity” previously reserved for kings and queens. The plumber and cabinet maker who designed it had no knowledge of human physiology – and sincerely believed that they were improving people’s lives..

Seven Advantages of Squatting

# Makes elimination faster, easier and more complete. This helps prevent “fecal stagnation,” a prime factor in colon cancer, appendicitis and inflammatory bowel disease.
# Protects the nerves that control the prostate, bladder and uterus from becoming stretched and damaged.
# Securely seals the ileocecal valve, between the colon and the small intestine. In the conventional sitting position, this valve is unsupported and often leaks during evacuation, contaminating the small intestine.
# Relaxes the puborectalis muscle which normally chokes the rectum in order to maintain continence.
# Uses the thighs to support the colon and prevent straining. Chronic straining on the toilet can cause hernias, diverticulosis, and pelvic organ prolapse.
# A highly effective, non-invasive treatment for hemorrhoids, as shown by published clinical research.
# For pregnant women, squatting avoids pressure on the uterus when using the toilet. Daily squatting helps prepare one for a more natural delivery.
  1. Nature%27s_Platform_toilet_converter.gif?width=251

The new device symbolized the “progress” and “creativity” of western civilization. It showed that Man could “improve” on Nature and transcend the primitive cultural practices followed by the poor “benighted” natives in the colonies. The “White Man’s Burden” typified the condescending Victorian attitude toward other races and cultures.

Squat appendages to home toilets are being reintroduced on recommendation of medical personnel.

back-shitters-thumb.jpg?width=344

The British plumbing industry moved quickly to install indoor plumbing and water closets throughout the country. The great benefits of improved sanitation caused people to overlook a major ergonomic blunder: The sitting position makes elimination difficult and incomplete, and forces one to strain.

Those who could not overlook this drawback had to keep silent, because the subject was considered unmentionable. Furthermore, how could they criticize the “necessary” used by Queen Victoria herself? (Hers was gold-plated, befitting the self-styled “Empress of India.”)

sitting-vs-squatting-naturesplatform.gif?width=356

Sitting vs squatting {naturesplatform}

So, like the Emperor’s New Clothes, the water closet was tacitly accepted. It was a grudging acceptance, as evidenced by the popularity of “squatting stools” sold in the famous department store, Harrods of London. As shown below on the left, these footstools merely elevated one’s feet in a crude attempt to imitate squatting.

The rest of Western Europe, as well as Australia and North America, did not want to appear less civilized than Great Britain, whose vast empire at the time made it the most powerful country on Earth. So, within a few decades, most of the industrialized world had adopted “The Emperor’s New Throne.”

150 years ago, no one could have predicted how this change would affect the health of the population. But today, many physicians blame the modern toilet for the high incidence of a number of serious ailments. Westernized countries have much higher rates of colon and pelvic disease, as illustrated by this report in the Israel Journal of Medical Science:

The prevalences of bowel diseases (hemorrhoids, appendicitis, polyps, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, diverticular disease, and colon cancer) are similar in South African whites and in populations of prosperous western countries. Among rural South African blacks with a traditional life style, these diseases are very uncommon or almost unknown.

Pictures of ancient public toilets tend to confuse westerners, who assume that they were used in the sitting position. This impression is often reinforced by the pose of a comical tourist. But, in reality, these are squat toilets. They are elevated, not for sitting, but because there is an open sewer underneath. The cutouts in the vertical wall allow people to clean themselves with water, which is done from the front when squatting. The last picture shows a typical tourist. He might be surprised to learn that, except for royalty and the disabled, everyone used the squatting position until the second half of the 19th century.

‘Everybody keeps saying Dagrin lives on, Dagrin lives on. I hope that after this for the next one year, you will still see them representing Dagrin. Because guy bone, most of them na lip service. After 1, 2, 3, three weeks, give them one month they will stop playing that CD of his. That’s one. Was favoured singer, D'banj truly beaten blue black by rapper, Ikechukwu Onunaku? This is the question music lovers and fans of the artistes are asking. They should know, however, that the veracity or otherwise of this allegation is akin to the archetype fart in a masquerade garb that must be borne by its bearer, no matter how putrid and pungent.

Some are postulating that if indeed Ikechukwu did not beat up D'banj, what led to his sudden ouster from Mo'Hits with whose members he hitherto enjoyed a cordial relationship?

Since his days as a Storm Records ensign, the 36-year-old rapper had always been a constant fixture in all Mo'Hits musical and social endeavours. When he officially disengaged from Storm, it was assumed that Mo'Hits, helmed by Don Jazzy and D'banj, would be his next label.

This assumption gained grounds when the braggadocious lyricist and founder of World Famous Academy featured the duo in a couple of his songs especially Wind Am Well in his last album. Even his current rave song, Critical, has the lyrical imprimatur of D'banj and the production aplomb of Don Jazzy. So, what went wrong between the two parties? Neither party was ready to go into details but there are undertones of girl-friend snatching among other details.

However, sources close to the label say the issue is far more fundamental and profound than that. Issues got to a head recently when the wave-making label denied that Ikechukwu was their artiste, affirming that he was only a friend of the house. And that set the rumour mill in auto drive.

E-Punch sources disclosed that indeed there was a face-off between the rapper and D'banj but it did not degenerate into fisticuffs...

It could not have because sinewy Ikechukwu is a black belt holder in karate with further expertise in Shotokan, aikido and tai chi. In fact, Ikechukwu was quoted as saying that the closest he got to being physical with his former collaborator was when he used to take him in karate lessons.

With a tone of finality, he says, "Ok, all you rumour mongers, false prophets and bearers of fake gist, I'm gonna say this once, I did not beat up D'Banj, case closed." Even Don Jazzy who is typically taciturn on such matters denied the allegation, saying it could never have happened.

The First Lady’s two-day visit to Rivers State ended in a fiasco yesterday.
All was well, until Dame Patience Jonathan and her chief host, Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi got to Okrika – the First Lady’s home town.

The governor was explaining by video his school project in Okrika, saying there must be demolition of some buildings to have space for the schools.

Mrs Jonathan cut in, grabbed the microphone and said the governor should reconsider the way he was going about the demolition. An attempt by Amaechi to explain the situation sent the First Lady boiling..

She shouted at Amaechi: "Listen!, you must listen to me!"

The governor was embarrassed, like a scolded school pupil. The audience hailed Mrs Jonathan, goading the First Lady on.

The President’s wife, however, described land as a serious issue in Okrika and told Amaechi to always avoid "must" when talking about waterfronts’ demolition. The governor never mentioned "waterfronts", but Mrs. Jonathan went on: "I want you to get me clear. I am from here (Okrika). I know the problems of my people. So, I know what I am talking. I do not want us to go into crises. We are preaching peace and we must maintain peace at any time.

"But what I am telling you is that you always say you must demolish. That word ‘must, you use is not good. It is by pleading. You appeal to the owners of the compound, because they will not go into exile. Land is a serious issue."

Downcast, Amaechi shunned a reception organised for the First Lady. The reception was, however, not on the programme.

Mrs Jonathan hurriedly left for Abuja. Her planned visit to Port Harcourt prisons, where the Chief Judge, Justice Iche Ndu, was expected to release some prisoners, was cancelled. So was her visit to the new Model Secondary School at Ebubu-Eleme, among others.

A civic reception in honour of the President’s wife was held at the Sharks Stadium, Port Harcourt on Monday. Her pet programme, Women for Change Initiative (WFCI), was launched.

This was followed by a state banquet/Award Night at the Government House, Port Harcourt, where the former Miss World, Agbani Darego, who hails from the state, and some women were honoured for their outstanding contributions to society.

Ambrose Alli University Sex-For-Grades Update: Dr. Otubu Fired; Judith Okosun Suspended For Six Semesters

judith_otubu_pose.jpg?1299082893&width=296
Dr. Peter Otubu and Judith Okosun

Judith Okosun, the 400-level Mechanical Engineering student at the centre of the July 2010 sex-for-grades scandal at the Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma, Edo State, has been suspended for six semesters.

In a report, THE NEWS said that Engr. Peter Otubu, the lecturer whose demand of sexual favours in exchange for good grades led to the crisis, was fired by the University, this was confirmed by the university authorities today.

In July 2010, Saharareporters broke the story of the scandal.  Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who is the Visitor of the institution, immediately demanded an investigation and report.

The university, which Ms. Okosun’s lawyer claimed to have been informed of the incident from the beginning, although its spokesman denied it, set up two committees.  The student was found guilty of “breaching her matriculation oath”.

Also, the university offers no guarantee that another randy lecturer will not be waiting with a new grading “system”, or to exact vengeance.

Dr. Otubu’s case was instructive according to the university vice chancellor who rendered an account of his past to the NEWS magazine, as stated here: “Professor Sam Uniamikogbo, the university’s Vice-Chancellor, explained why Judith was also sanctioned. “The student was aware of the university’s rules and regulations and once any student violates any of the rules, that student will be disciplined,’’ he told TheNEWS.  The rules, said the Vice-Chancellor, forbid students from taking laws into their own hands, as Judith seemed to have done. Uniamikogbo is, however, still shocked by the conduct of Otubu. Prior to the scandal, the V-C said, Otubu was considered chaste; having helped the university authorities bust a lecturer who habitually demanded sex from married undergraduates. ‘‘It was Otubu that we put on the case. The married woman was told to play along. Otubu helped us to arrest the lecturer at the hotel to which he had invited the woman. I could never have imagined that a man we thought was clean and a veritable role model would be involved in this kind of scandal,” Uniamikogbo said ruefully...

The university terminated Dr. Otubu’s appointment on October 26 2010.

A source at the university told SaharaReporters that Judith has gone to court to challenge her wrongful rustication from the university.
